Space Dandy on Adult Swim

I might, just to see how it turns out. The fanservice aspect generally isn't my thing, but if it truly is a satire, then it should be all right. Hopefully it's better as a whole than the review of the first episode seems to imply.

Yeah, the fanservice aspect of it does seem kind of not particularly necessary (and I have my doubts about the "satire" defense), but anything by the maker of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo is going to have some redeeming virtues in any case, so I wouldn't judge the show too harshly if it gets off to a slightly bumpy start.

I'm going to watch it in its entirety and then make a judgment. That's the only fair thing to do, in my opinion.

I watched this show last night and liked it for the most part. Not on the level of Shinichiro Watanabe's other shows (his hands-on involvement with this one appears to be a bit less, he was credited as a writer and "general director" on the first episode while someone else was credited as the director), but still lots of fun. I didn't even mind the fan-servicey stuff all that much, I felt like it fit with the silly tone of the rest of the show (parody might be a better word than satire to describe it though since satire suggests a serious purpose which I don't think this was made with). I look forward to seeing more of this show.

I watched it last night too. I wasn't "hooked" immediately, but I laughed throughout the episode.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes. (And I agree---I used the incorrect word. Well, it seems that way so far, anyway. The show might ultimately lean towards satirizing fanservice rather than simply parodying/paying homage to it.)
