Hi, if I were to ask myself how I’ve been doing well not too great as I’m still trying to gain employment again 4 months later. I’ve had several interviews 3-4 the past month and they all went horrible with rejections. I had one for a watershed analyst, a sanitarian and just recently as of yesterday as wastewater operator which I got a rejection via email this afternoon. Every interview I’ve had I prepare myself by making bullet points, creating stories of experience I have related to the job I’m interviewing for even had a couple in person mock interviews but anytime I go to the interview I keep freezing up, take long pauses in between thoughts or even gets to where I’m having trouble expressing my thoughts verbally that it’s sooo embarrassing that I’ve had a few depression episode to the point I’m not wanting to do another interview again. I’ve been getting to where I’ve been having to use a resource in my state known as vocational rehabilitation services where I have a career coach helping me out in my interviews and after working with the individual for a few days I feel it is helping such as trying to being more articulate and communicate more clearly. I am a bit ashamed to even take that route but I need any help that I can get. I wish employers can just look past the social abnormalities during a 30 minute interview as I personally don’t believe it measures your whole personality and what you can do on the job especially for neurodivergents.
