Why is it that boys and men are more likely to get a diagnosis of autism and not girls and women?

And that kids grow out of it while reaching adulthood.
Sadly, female doctors can misdiagnose as well. i have only ever been to female psychologists, and they all found the same result (minor learning disability, not even close to being on the spectrum.) self diagnosis is a powerful tool, and if you can explain what you know to be true to a medical professional -especially with a ton of research and observations from the field to back your claims- chances are they will believe you, and you can start to receive the help and support you deserve. being a woman is tough some days, but being an autistic woman is a whole other challenge. Getting a correct diagnosis can be almost impossible for some women, the system is a mess.They don't look at women the same way they look at men.
If you want a Dx , go to a female dr. I was laughed at by a male dr and then dxed by a female!
