Here are some alternatives I found, to use in recipes instead of soy. They are not all vegetarian.

Soy Sauce/ Tamari: Fish Sauce

Teriyaki Sauce: Fish Sauce combined with Coconut Aminos

Tofu, in breakfast scrambles or quiches: Just Egg- it is an egg substitute, made with mung beans, that can be cooked any way that eggs are. It's sold in the egg dept of the grocery store.

Tofu, as a dinner entree: Steak. lol. Kidding, but not really. But seriously, You can make tofu from unsweetened almond or oat milk. 1 gallon oat or almond milk, brought just to a boil, turn off stove. Stir in 1 cup of vinegar, making sure to really stir it in. You will see the curd separate from the whey. Let it sit til cool. Put a colander inside a bowl, and line the colander with cheesecloth. It helps to elevate the colander with a small bowl or cup. Pour curd and whey mixture into the colander. The whey will drain away (it makes great shampoo- fyi). Wrap the cheesecloth around the curd, and squeeze as much remaining liquid as you can. Pour the curd into another bowl, sprinkle with salt, and stir. You now have soft tofu. This is also how you make soft cheese from animal milk.

TVP for making burgers: Beans or crumbled soyless tofu (see above), mixed with flour and spices. form patties or crumble up, and fry.

Do you have any other substitutes for allergens, that you can share?

Do you mean as alternatives to soy entirely or alternatives to GMO soy? I've experimented with trying to make things like homemade mayonnaise (with actual soybeans) and it never came out quite the same, but these were during vegan spurts and they could've probably used some eggs!

I would definitely say meat and soybeans are pretty interchangeable; if you're trying to avoid meat, go soy. If you're trying to avoid soy, go meat. They both have a similar amino acid profile IIRC and contain all of the important proteins, so I'd kind of deem both healthy on a whole-foods diet sans allergies or something else. If you're vegan and allergic to soy, that's probably a real deadlock and a half.

Soy just requires a lot of doctoring if you want it to taste good, meat not so much.

I defintely have started eating a lot of beans. I start realizing how bad food is for us in general and l am an emotional eater so l need to watch myself. I like to buy Trader Joe's TVC. I also enjoyed soy chorizo from wherever. Despite running, I am eating pretty simple, but l love to cook when my friend comes to stay.
