Summer Game Fest 2024

I can tell how out of touch I am with the big game industry marketing parties here... I read "summer game fest" and immediately thought "but I already looked at Steam's big showcase of upcoming games" (which is currently happening for about 3 days, likely yet another giant sale to follow shortly after, because apparently that's Valve's hobby or something)

I went and looked at the list of games from the Summer Fest, the only thing I personally really notice is Civilization 7. My entire freaking friends list on Steam, ALL of them are going to be playing that the moment it comes out. Well, almost all. I can expect to hear about that one over and over and over and over... I'd heard rumors it was coming but nothing concrete until now.

There's also another Monster Hunter in there, but I still havent gotten around to the current one yet.

I see a proper RTS in here too, now that could be interesting. I dont remember the last time I saw one of those at any big event. Gotta be decades now.

And something by the guy who did Stanley Parable? Huh. Not sure what to make of that one.

Other than that, well... yeah this just reminds me of why I stopped watching such events. Last one I paid real attention to, like ACTUALLY watched, would have been E3, over a decade ago.

I almost went to E3, once. About a million years ago.

I love how that Geoff guy just plugs every terrible game with a smile on his face.

I'm going on a hiatus until Gamescom. :D
