Do you like Thai food?

I like most Asian cuisines, because of what part of the world we're in that's what was the most popular in Australia for many years. Thai, Chinese from different provinces (China's a big place), Vietnamese.

Mexican food is a relatively new thing in Australia, only the last 15 years or so. Indian too.

When the White Australia Policy ended the first waves of migrants were from Greece and Italy and those foods became a part of our every day life, especially the coffee.

The next big wave of migrants were refugees from Vietnam, they very quickly assimilated in to our way of life and introduced us to a whole lot of different foods. After that we started getting migrants from every different part of Asia and they all brought their favourite recipes with them.

The next big wave of migration we had was from Lebanon and Lebanese foods became very popular too, especially the Doner Kebab.

I like it enough but find that a lot of the dishes I get are too sweet. It's like they add too much sugar to the dish or something. I don't know. I prefer Indian food.

I visited Thailand a couple of years ago and had great food all over the place. I ate my way through night markets, and had Pad Thai at the storefront that popularized it; Pad Thai Thipsammai, where their Superb Pad Thai has the noodles inside a wrapper of paper thin omelette. For dessert I'd get a bag of khanom buang; little rice tacos filled with a sweet coconut cream. Then, I was taken around by a woman and her husband because I helped her with project mapping that she was responsible for as a university nurse vaccinating the student body against COVID. They insisted that I eat like a normal Thai, and I was challenged. Things like green papaya salad with dried shrimp, or a fiery four prik wild boar in red curry, were very tasty and we had these plus other preparations at a restaurant overlooking the Bridge over the River Kwai. I also took cooking lessons that were fun and tasty. Then there is some modern cooking like medium peppers stuffed with pork in a Panang Curry, and for dessert a rice gnocci with citrus and coconut milk.

Sign me up. We hit our Thai restaurant on a regular basis. And they have so much clientele that they can treat you soso. They have zero competition. In LA, l lived right next to Thai Town, so l shopped the Thai grocery every other day, when l wasn't shopping at the Korean store in K-town, where a giant vat of kimchi would signify the deli side. Japan town was further down Hollywood Blvd. That area of LA is food heaven. Scattered on Hollywood Blvd are Russian bakeries, and their grocery stores , so l tried many delicious items. l noticed in Hawaii, Vietnamese also have a green papaya salad similar to Thai cuisine.

I have never had Thai food that I am aware of. That choice is not on the survey. I have not gone out of my way to avoid it, nor have I gone out of my way to try it. It's just not something that presents itself in "my world".

I'm not sure what kind of mystery meat it really is, but if it is on a stick and marinated sweet and spicy, I am in.

the only thai food i've had is pad thai and IIRC that's not even some old well established dish, i think it was invented in like the mid-20th century lol

Na, I'm nickname it Jasmin crocket's teriyaki flavoured frog legs and cover up of others responsible for Indonesian financial downfall, lesser sick pay compensate from Taiwan to vieetnaam....I'm, mean who all was to blame? I'm, I thought no one noticed they discontented with Spanish ownership of child and wife slaves, must just keep pouring their resources into needy Formosa with no complaints about strategies.

Hence: the sauce tastes better on fish or frogs legs than chicken, could also skewer leggies and try Lebanese sauce, just don't over-exploit Africa's conservation and don't expect others to question how the resources you need still exist today, by who's efforts, Nd which backup military helped or conceded to take over others efforts and become dictators.

But since it's soul-fusion investment and man does not live on bread alone, I suggest adding ginger to regular curry powder to give it exotic twist. Used to add ginger powder to rajah, but sadly now buy gluten-free spice.

I struggle with Thai food. I like a lot of the dishes, but a lot of the more common dishes have peanuts in them. I like peanuts on their own but not in my food. all I taste are the peanuts and the texture is weird in my mouth. I do like the spices. I like drunken noodles.

I agree, l don't like peanuts unless they are chopped, l guess it's with the mouth feel. But l can't bring a grinder to Thai restaurant. This restaurant has yellow, red and green curry. l have made red and green curry dishes at home and infuse it with coconut powder and garlic. l really enjoy lemon grass and have cooked with it. Thai basil is a number one herb l love.

I have never seen Thai food, but the last time I saw Chinese food, I asked for plain rice, and then discovered that they had picked most of the pork out of it.
