The Insomniac's Guide To Properly Submitting to Hypnovids: Sleep

Where I live it's 2:27 AM. I need to go to work tomorrow despite being moderately sick with allergies (payday), and hopefully there is still GatorAde in my fridge.

More importantly I couldn't go to sleep if someone lobbed a sack of bricks at my forehead at Mach 10 speed, so I'm calling upon my good friend UltraHypnosis of YouTube.

Also, I've decided to tell you guys how to properly watch and follow these hypnosis videos so that restful eight hours of sleep is gladly in your clutches.

1. Preferably the first thing a person with a disability such as Aspergers would do before exposing themself to hypnosis is exposing themselves to lighthearted imagery. Ideally, before pulling up a hypnovid, try looking at images that are visually appealing (not rule 34!), such as "kawaii" fan arts of certain video game characters. As explained in my last post I find Jigglypuff fan arts both reassuringly positive and it puts tranquil imagery in my mind, killing two birds with one stone by not only clearing negative thoughts out of my head but subliminally telling myself I want/need to sleep.

2. There's nothing wrong with going to bed with a full belly and/or wet throat, but timing is everything. One of the biggest mistakes you can make before bed is going to bed with an empty stomach and dry mouth/throat. Not only is it unsatisfying and uncomfortable but sleeping while hungry can cause you to wake up even hungrier since you're spending more time not feeding yourself, and going to bed thirsty not only leaves you with a dry mouth but such effects can lead to things like gingivitis, tooth decay, bad breath and in rare cases throat ulcers (if what my 4the grade science class taught me is correct).

3. Sleep on something scratchy and you're not going to be very still. Sleep in a hot room and you won't sleep at all.

4. Finally, on to the Hypnovids themselves. Since the ones we're focusing on put you to sleep, I recommend doing the above before turning one on. First off, you'll want to be in a position that's not too comfortable but not unsettling also. Second, it's a good idea to listen to different types of audio cues found during the video, though these cues vary depending on who's hypnotizing you. For me, I watch UltraHypnosis, and throughout many of his sleep hypnos he'll normally start off by snapping his fingers and saying "sleep" for at least a full minute, though Don't let your guard down because this sleep is just for the trance he's putting you in. After that he'll most likely start counting down from 10 /5, at the end of which, the trance is now stronger. By then, he'll start most likely emitting a long, dreamy shushing noise ("Ssshhhhhhhhh...."). This is the one you'll want to listen for the most. For me the first time I heard the shush, I was already asleep before the video was even over; it may be different for you, or it may not.

That's basically it in a nutshell. Sweet dreams!
