The last time you have been dooped

Last week, I went to the store to get a replacement battery that is part of my warranty. It arrived in the mail a week later. I got excited when the battery arrived until I learned the battery is 700mAh less capacity than my original battery. It layman terms, it works out 25% less power. Now, most people don't read the mAh since they are not tech savvy. I'm returning that battery to ensure they ship the right one.

I can reply I think, but please just tell me the meaning of the word "dooped" as I've not come across the word before. :-)

There can be multiple meanings. Scammed, ripped off, etc. In short, it would be a bad experience a person had with someone.

I haven't been duped by telephone scams, even though they call every one or two days. I never, ever answer of course. At least the calls have become very few now. Seems like they're slowly giving up on me. :p Just criminal scammers spoofing their caller id. Most of the time you can look their fake numbers up on the Internet to verify the scam and even the reported number of people per week being called.

However I did notice recently that the volume of large and medium bags of M&Ms have been reduced by about .40 ounces, supplemented with a ten cent price increase. Reminds me of how canned goods seem to get smaller and smaller.

I find it getting more common the food industry doing that. For here, bacon use to be sold as 500 g which is a little more than a pound. Now it is 375 g. It really mess up cooking as there can be many recipes expecting 500 g.

OK.
The last time would have been a mis-labled pair of trousers that turned out to be far too huge and I'm left with an unwearable item of clothing because I can't ever seem to muster up the courage to confront the shopkeeper to complain. And I try to be in and out of shops real quick so didn't take the time to check.

Inbox, this happens to us all & is so annoying! Next time you arrive home & find that whatever item you purchase is the wrong size or somehow not right, put the item along with your store receipt aside until you can return to the store. You probably don't want to have to bother making another trip to the store or feel ike having to explain the predicament to one of the store clerks, because it is an inconvenience. But unless you went ahead & used or wore the item, or lost the receipt which provides your proof of purchase (& show the price you paid), most stores have no problem with someone returning an item that isn't right for the purchaser (i.e.; the customer, in this case, you).

You don't need to worry or "confront" anyone at the store. Just calmly & nicely explain that the item is the wrong size, you didn't wear it & here is the receipt. They will usually ask whether you want a refund or another item in the correct size. A good store clerk will want to help you, & make sure you are happy & pleased with your purchases & shopping experience. Of course there are jerks in every walk of life including retail store clerks. But they should be the exception versus the norm.

Just keep in mind in advance that some stores have a policy where they provide only a store credit or replacement item and not a full money refund. Most stores also have a time limit on returning an item which for some reason can commonly be 30 days, or 90 days. Most stores will not accept worn clothes for return.

So if this happens again - or your pants purchase was recent! - don't worry about returning them!

I know what it is like to purchase something & get home to find it is not exactly right. I have told my husband many times that I will one day hold a "garage sale" to sell all the items I purchased but never used or wore because they were the wrong size or whatever; and I never made it back to the store in time to return them! Ugh
I can take them back if I wanted to, I'd just rather not have the extra added stress and hassle of communicating with someone I don't know

Last week:
The ingredient list on a can was in English and Spanish.
I read what I thought was the entire list of ingredients in English, thinking 'great, no cow milk.'

The rest of the list of ingredients was on the Spanish side of the can.
Yeah.
Cow milk.
 at self for missing that.

So basically they list all the ingredients in Spanish but not in English?

If that had been the case, I wouldn't felt as bad.
No, they have 2 lists.
One in Spanish. One in English.
BUT....some of the English words were on the Spanish side of the can, so I didn't look there.

A poor graphic design, IMO.
:p

As for an update for my post this what happen. I started off with Galaxy S2. Over period of time I done phone upgrades and now own Galaxy Note 3. Best Buy didn't update my warranty plan that I own a Galaxy Note 3 so they sent me an S2 battery instead. So now I have the right and wrong battery. I wondering if anyone on here needs a battery for the S2?

Right. It something could have happen to me here as our labels are French and English. It confusing sometimes that a world in one language means something else in another. Example for SOS pads. Pads in French is spelled as tampons. I didn't bought tampons, I bought steel wool soap pads.
