The Most Aspie Song

Yeshuasdaughter

You know, that one lady we met that one time.
V.I.P Member
You can post songs here that you feel really describe what it's like to be an aspie.

I'll go first

Bjork: Isobel

This song and video is kind of how I see myself in the world. I'm kind of weird, kind of lonely, and easily optimistic. I love Jesus very much, but nature is my true church.

I've been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand
Could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man?
Lose sensations, spare the insults, leave them for another day
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling
Take the shock away

It's getting faster, moving faster now
It's getting out of hand
On the tenth floor, down the back stairs
It's a no man's land
Lights are flashing, cars are crashing
Getting frequent now
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling
Let it out somehow

What means to you, what means to me
And we will meet again
I'm watching you, I'm watching
Oh I'll take no pity from your friends
Who is right? Who can tell?
And who gives a damn right now?
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold
Then you know
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold
Then you know
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold
Then you know

I've got the spirit
But lose the feeling
I've got the spirit
But lose the feeling
Feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling

Jesus freak by DC talk if you replace Jesus with autism it describes me the line 'people say I'm strange does it make me a stranger' interests me

And the "dude with the big fat belly that wobbled around like marmalade jelly" is just the kind of overwhelming neurotypical that I'd want to avoid! lol

Everytime I see that line I think Santa Claus then back to the flash at the moment and mark hamill as department store Santa claus

Cruising around alone for hours and hours is my happy place. I miss my car.

And the way Gary Numan averts his gaze from the camera, it's totally aspie. Look at how his gaze is sort of down and to the side.

Disorder By Joy Division is definitely at the top of my list. Some others I like are:
The logical song by supertramp
There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am

Joyriding by Frank Iero
I'm not sure what they said,
But if it's true I'll bet
It's just one more thing I'll regret
I hate my weaknesses,
They made me who I am

Back In School by Mother Mother
I wanna get it but I got bad brains
I'm what they like to call a special case
I am a coma in a classroom
I got detention 'cause I made a face
Nobody believes me that it stuck that way

Copycat by Circus P (the vocaloid used is Gumi)

We get along just fine
I say everything you like to hear
"It's funny how much I
Feel like I'm looking in a mirror"

I can't remember...
Who I am...
Everything's a blur...
Take me over...

I'll BECOME WHAT YOU LIKE
THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE WANTED, RIGHT!?
SACRIFICE ALL I KNOW
I WILL TEACH MYSELF TO LET GO

(reminds me of masking)

Joy Division definitely hits the right chords with me.

In life I have often had the feeling I see things, hear things that others (NTs) do not. I don't mean actually voices or hallucinations but in thoughts and images. For instance riding along in a car at night, others see a concrete wall in the yellowy light of a streetlamp. I see it and it might trigger elaborate ideas or imagined scenes, or even a whole trainload of them. On the one hand it made me easily distracted, and could be negative as well as positive, but on the whole I thought was a richer experience.

The street cafe was closed to all but ghosts
Who glide the alleys searching for their lair
I heard a voice like winter call my name
Said very soon that I would join them there
And all the creatures born of ink and rage and lies
Jumped off my pen and ran across the page to die
Preservation was the term of their disease
Degradation is the term of their release

Everyone is trying to get to the bar
The name of the bar, the bar is called Heaven
The band in Heaven, they play my favorite song
They play it once again, they play it all night long

Heaven
Heaven is a place
A place where nothing
Nothing ever happens
Heaven
Heaven is a place
A place where nothing
Nothing ever happens

There is a party, everyone is there
Everyone will leave at exactly the same time
It's hard to imagine that nothing at all
Could be so exciting, could be so much fun

Yeah, heaven
Heaven is a place
A place where nothing
Nothing ever happens
Yeah, heaven
Heaven is a place
A place where nothing
Nothing ever happens

And when this kiss is over, it will start again
Will not be any different, will be exactly the same
It's hard to imagine that nothing at all
Could be so exciting, could be this much fun

Yeah, heaven
Heaven is a place
A place where nothing
Nothing ever happens
Heaven
Heaven is a place
A place where nothing
Nothing ever happens

Our dating life in a nutshell. A great song! I have the Sam Ash version on Columbia.

The Aspie state of mind--- goes kind of like this. I played this record over and over again when I was a kid and unfortunately accidentally dropped it. Being an old 78 it shattered into a million pieces.

For those who take things VERY LITERALLY & despise other nonsense-- "Foolish Questions." Johnny Cash covered it once but this one is the real deal.

For people who have sensory overload in crowded places, public spaces, moving-picture shows.

There are ever so many more of them but these are some of my favorite songs in the world. Not too many new ones in here but these are straight classics.

I see that same Christian/autism parallel in
Not Of This World, Petra (1983)

When I first joined years ago, there was a thread along this line and the
one song that seemed to have been selected the most was
Paul Simon- I am a Rock
I also relate to Whitesnake - Drifter
Still Haven't Found - U2
Ordinary World - Duran Duran
You Don't Know How It Feels - Tom Petty
Yes, as you can see, I'm an '80s classics person.

I'll have to wait to comment until it's panic attack free period, I'm getting panic attacks because of premenopause ,SSRIs can't control them ,I'm not spiritually perceptive in these periods
