Tonight was the big unveiling (locally) of a brand new Ferrari hybrid exotic car, at a European car cruise night... The 296 GTB

If you've read this far :), here is an article - 2022 Ferrari 296GTB Review, Pricing, and Specs

And a photo of course... Truth be told, it was just an excuse to get out of the house and see some other cool cars... And here is a photo, if you care ...

Somebody is splashing some cash for that! Have you ever driven anything of the sort?

There were two, I believe on display from our local Ferrari dealer, but there is lots of big money floating around, these will sell no problem...

I love cool cars but I will never be able to even get close to affording one lol.
Right now I have a van and I’m technically borrowing it until I can buy a car.

My car collection, on my computer desk. Don’t know why but I was always a little embarrassed to post these.

The computer is for video editing and audio production btw

Nice car collection, I have a fairly large toy car collection... Here is part of it on a bookshelf... Nothing all that exotic...

Oooooh I'm an animal lover and those are wild Italian horses  There's a racetrack here where people can rent luxury cars like that for a day and hopefully not wreck them.

I love Italian sports cars. I used to go to the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Detroit back in the early 1980s. Sport cars have certainly changed since then. I believe electric motors are capable of yielding much more torque than gasoline motors. I am guessing that sport cars will be fitted with all-electric engines in the future.
I wanted to augment my 1971 Lincoln Mark III rated at 365 hp. I thought that a 460 cid/7.5 L motor could put out a lot more power. Unfortunately, I had to sell my car a year ago:

Like most things Ferrari, you can not simply walk into the dealership with a bag of money and expect to order any car you like. You need to have a relationship and have ordered sometimes numerous ‘entry level’ models before you will even be considered for a model further up the food (and price) chain.

Ferrari also has numerous and legally binding things you can and can not do with the new Ferrari you ordered. For example, removing the Prancing Horse medallion or otherwise bastardizing the vehicle will result in a cease and desist order from the Ferrari legal department.

My latest ‘special interest’ is exotic cars and I follow this gentleman in the UK. Here is a link to his review of the 296 GTB.

Speaking of toy cars, my wife and I have his and hers Jeeps. They are older (1990 & 1996) and are modified for off road use. They are money pits, but they sure are a lot of fun. Everyone has different tastes in their motorized toys.

Another thing to keep in mind when ordering a quality exotic is the wait time. Prior to C19, the typical wait time for a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, etc was around five (5) months. Now it is 24 months or more if you can get an allocation which most can’t.

When C19 hit, most analysts thought that the economy would crash due to people not purchasing high dollar items. As we know now, the exact opposite has happened and people are spending money like drunken sailors.

As an example, a nicely optioned Lamborghini Huracan is around $250K. More than a few people are using them for a few months and selling them for $350K. That’s $100K profit (for a now used car) due to another person that absolutely has to have the car NOW.

My favourite car of last night? A 1982 Toyota Starlet, don't laugh ;) It's a cool car, few were sold in Canada and only for two years, it used to be a race car...

Those fender flares are seriously old-school :) And the black hood, not something you usually see on a Toyota.

Flat black hood for racing, for less sun glare... This car was probably raced back in the 1980's, then stored for many years... Now it's street legal, I didn't see a roll cage in the car

Yeah I have been thinking about painting the hood on my '79 pickup black. To look cool, more racy. And to stop the glare when I race around.;)
