I noticed a lot of polls lately but I am wondering what everyone thinks about polls?

Please use this poll so we can all know what you think about polls!

I'm usually more interested in someone's individual thoughts than the results. I tend to read what people write and then look at the poll as an afterthought.

I made a poll about polls when I did, because
I wanted practice using the format. I don't care
a lot about doing polls because the number of
results is so few.

I enjoyed making surveys when I was in school.
Could get a couple hundred results, from asking
various classes to complete them.

I'm very similar although I do look at the poll first (mostly because it's right there conveniently at the top).

I find people's words often become more interesting due to the fact that the poll is a bit more limiting with only a few options and people can say so many more interesting things besides what is on there.

I like to see what people like and dislike and see their thoughts on the topic. Polls can help identify information and learn new things. Polls also help to create engagement with other people and make better connections. Regular threads also build better connections too, but I wanted to include this thought with polls.

I'm usually more curious about people's individual opinions than the poll results as well, but it's very interesting to see what everyone's preferences are regardless.
I do really enjoy @Metalhead 's food polls because were are almost always on the same page about food lol

I think that the polls and surveys are heaps of fun. They really liven up my day when I see a new one pop up on the forums.

Just like everything else... I like them, if their content interests me and is relevant to my life. Polls about products often include food or drinks that aren't available in my country, and so they aren't relevant to me and I can't comment. The best polls are those which transcend international boundries and which are relevant to everyone. Also, those that make you think a bit more about an issue are good, as opposed to those which are pure trivia (though I often respond to the trivia ones).

I think they are fun and glad to see them on the new topics when I am here.
From trivial to deeper thoughts, they are a good way to get to know what others here think.
It's a way of getting to know each other on a personal level.
