Things to do when sick/bored

Creating this thread for my own use as I’m recovering from a cold. I don’t have a fever anymore, but my voice is completely gone. After my cough has passed, this thread will be used as a way to give people ideas on what to do when they don’t know what to do if they’re sick/bored/home alone

1. Watch a new show. I’ve been thinking about watching big mouth on Netflix despite its mixed reviews. I found out there’s a character in the show called Caleb that some people speculate could be autistic. If there are any other shows out there like South Park, let me know! I like funny, satirical stuff.

2. Be chronically Online.

1. Read.

2. Listen to music.

3. Draw.

4. Talk to friends on the phone if they’re around.

5. Write - in your journal, or make up poems or stories if you’re into that.

6. If you have to stay in bed, close your eyes and listen to the sounds around you.

There’s a start for things to do when you’re home sick. There’s probably more I can think of.

1. Read a book/listen to an audiobook
2. Play videogames
3. Do research on things that interest you (nerdy I know but it's a good time passer and you get to learn new things.
4. Watch TV/Streaming service/a movie, YouTube, whatever you prefer. (I prefer YouTube personally.)
5. Play around with AI, can be a fun thing to do be it chatbots, art bots, or even story teller bots like AIDungeon. I used to pass time chatting with the flawed and outdated Cleverbot AI.

Sick I understand. What is this "bored" thing?

I am being facetious. I know what the word means. But I have never understood how people can be bored, especially now with all the info technology out there.

Being bedridden, if there's a laptop or TV available, there's an endless amount of stuff to stay occupied till you're well. Of course books and/or e-readers also can be totally absorbing.

Give yourself the creeps by watching creepy videos online

Create a questionnaire here with lots of random questions for us

Make yourself burp by drinking loads of soda

Write lots of random names, surnames and their birthdays

Mfpppffpp mmmppm… (how am I supposed to do that if my voice is gone)?

Keep pressing buttons until they give you the right answer!

Write a story. Draw a great picture. Cook your fav meal or something new. Drink busloads of tea for your cold. Snuggle with your favorite things including cats. Order pizza, have your mom order pizza. Eat anything with honey and lemon, good for colds. Chicken soup is a famous cold remedy. Finally rest and take care of yourself, and say thank god it's not Covid. My nonna swore by vitamin C as the cure for staying healthy. (Nonna- Italian for grandma). She always told me to be thankful for good health.

My usual interests + less responsibility = interests unchained

It also depends on how much energy you have, though. There are times when I feel so bad that it's hard to just pass the time. The last time I got either covid or a covid-like, I basically didn't want to do anything. And that's rare for me.

I don't get sick often, it's been literally several years since I've even had a cold, but unless I'm really miserable I usually do the stuff I do most days when I'm not sick. Drawing, reading, playing video games and watching YouTube videos.

The last time I was sick with a cold, I watched Wreck It Ralph for the first time on TV. I was amused when the arcade owner stuck an out of order sign on Ralph's game that had a picture of a "sick" game cabinet with an ice pack and a thermometer in its mouth.

Ill currently and I've mostly been having videos on, sometimes just in the background as something to listen to.

I've come on the internet a little bit but not too much. It's been a bit draining

Also naps. Naps help you heal and pass the time if you're the person who likes naps and are tired enough. I hope your illness leaves soon
