Three things I wish I could do

1) I wish I could play the guitar above a novice level. I pretty much can only do basic movements and I can’t pull off complex ones.

2) I wish I could draw better and not suffer from creative mental blocks.

3) I wish I could write stories without getting writer’s block.

Here is my stab at this. -This might be long-

My ways of dealing the issues you presented here (Issue 2 and Issue 3) would be to find other activities you like. Here's an example for ya, I usually like to go for walks around new or familiar places, (in my case) such as heading to downtown Houston or riding a train/Metro Bus. The scenery, Leisure activities, and other things helps take in idea's, but these unfiltered ideas can fly away pretty quickly. The key is to retain the ideas that fly in your mind, quickly.

I do this by jotting down my unfiltered thoughts in my head on my notepad in my phone. Don't worry if they (the ideas) sound silly, you can chose through them later. The important thing is to have a list of Ideas in front of you, so you can chose (and refine your chosen ideas). (This is how i create my scenarios, Ideas and artwork b.t.w)

Summary - Thinking too hard about it (Your creatives, Art, Writing,) MIGHT actually make you not think anything of substance.

To further clarify this, You don't have to do what I displayed here (The specific leisure activities), the point is to engage in something else WITHOUT focusing too much on your drawing and Writing. After doing that, Ironically, the ideas in which you can USE for your writing and art, will flow into you.

I really wish i could help with (Issue 1) But i don't play any instrument.

Oh and about drawing skill... Don't mind that too much, just worry about dealing with blocks for now.

Good luck, let your creative spirit roam free!

@Markness I would argue that unfortunately experiencing mental blocks is inevitable when it comes to creativity. But finding ways to push through them is the real key. If we are sticking to wishes, perhaps you could wish for ways to reinstate and reinvigorate creativity.

When we spend creativity, we are bound to run out, and we must find a new source of income for it.

@Markness I also go through spurts of drawing and writing. I've won second place in a flash fiction contest (prose no longer than 1,000 words) but I cannot just sit and write my (what I think are) good ideas down most of the time. Same with drawing. I sketch something, and weeks later add to it, and weeks later a little more. It is frustrating, because I want to get it done. But if I force it, it is garbage and I toss it out. If I just let myself enjoy it while I can, and don't worry about it until I want to again, it goes better.
.
Then, sometimes I'll write a whole story and enter it in a contest. It is all (for me) just about respecting what I want to, need to, and am able to do at any given time.

If you want to be good at those things, you need to do a couple of things:
1. Make time for them and practice.
2. Put in the 10,000 hours it takes to learn an endeavor well.

See, that's just plain SCARY dude.
.
No, I mean it.
.
really.

I would have loved to learn how to play guitar. Unfortunately, being ambidextrous and the lectures I got not telling me how to hold the guitar in the first lesson really screwed me up upside down and backwards. my ears told me something was wrong. It never occurred to the teacher on the DVD that an Aspie like me would not see the obvious.
