Tiers for Clothing brands from Low-End to Ultra High-End

I was wondering, if you could group clothing brands from Low-End to Ultra High-End, how would you group them?

Here is how I would group certain brands:

Low-End (aka Economy)
Hanes
Gildan
Fruit of the Loom
Amazon Essentials
Walmart/Target brands
No-Name Asian brands

Middle-Low
U.S. Polo Assn
Club Room
(Liz) Claiborne

Mid-Range
IZOD
Chaps
Van Heusen
Arrow
Greg Norman

Middle-High
Lauren by Ralph Lauren
Nautica
Under Armor

High-End (aka Premium)
Polo Ralph Lauren Blue and Black Labels
Lacoste
Tommy Hilfiger
Calvin Klein

Ultra High-End (aka Luxury)
Polo Ralph Lauren Purple Label
Burberry
Aquascutum
Dunhill

Are you kidding? I buy for comfort and price (that usually means second-hand) not by brand.

Note that IZOD is my favorite brand, but I still consider it a mid-range brand based on price, being priced above the brands in my Low-End and Middle-Low segments but below the higher segments. Many of the brands in the higher tiers are out of my typical price range.

Thanks for this list! It’s interesting to divide up fashions into these categories. There are a whole lot more of course. I guess some look at the higher end as status symbols. Some times quality does not equate with high price at all. I have always been a thrift shop buyer, and I look for quality in second hand clothing, more than design label.

Still, I do like some designer brands for their quality. Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren are some. I just lost 50lbs so shopping for clothes is definately on my mind. I start a new job next week, and need some decent fitting clothing. I hate shopping in stores and malls.

It's all the same to me, I like wearing hoodies and tracksuit pants/sweatpants.

The high end value I wear are Adidas and Nike. I have the Nike Hi-tech fleece sweatpants and the best sweatpants I ever brought.

Others I buy are rather ordinary, but comfortable to wear.

Can I ask you something? I always wondered why people pay so much for these brand items...is it for fashion status, or do they just fit better? All athletic wear is supposed to feel comfortable, so I was just wondering. I can not justify the expense of thes brands, myself. Also, I have sensory issues, and cannot wear synthetic fibers.

It varies; some buy them for fashion status while some buy them for perceived quality even though they might have not tried other brands. I personally think the Mid-Range is the sweet spot for the best balance between price and quality; IZOD provides great quality without being too expensive.
