Video Blogging, has anyone done it?

I'm half considering doing a weekly Viog on my YouTube page, like Piper on Neighbours, but having had problems before surrounding video footage of me on there, I'm a bit in 2 minds about it.

Has anyone else on here, who is Aspie, done anything similar and had any problems? Such as trolls posting negative comments to your Vlog or stuff?

If I did this, I would record the footage on my phone and upload it from my Google Drive to a private separate YouTube account and only link to it on here.

On a related note, I already have a YouTube account on which I post Xbox gaming footage, how could I set up another one free with my Gmail account?

I don’t think starting a vlog would be a good idea for you, Rich. Judging by what I’ve seen from you, you seem to be rather sensitive to comments, and relatively quick to anger.

People will leave negative comments on your vlog, people will troll, and if they notice it’s affecting you, they’ll just amp it up. I think it might be better for your mental health to refrain.

Contrary to popular opinion, I don't have anger management issues, I used to but that was a LONG time ago.

Oh, I’m not suggesting that. My impression from your posts on these forums is just that you have a short fuse, in which case I don’t think it’s advisable to set yourself up for criticism online.

I agree with @Bolletje . I have also noticed that you seem sensitive to criticism. Could you handle trolls and negative, unjustified comments or criticism?

An alternative would be to disable the comments and just not interact at all. Anyway, it's up to you.

I don't think I could ever vlog, I am sensitive to criticism, YouTube is full of trolls and I just don't have the confidence. Also, who would be interested? Another talking head video amongst the literally thousands of a similar nature. What would I have to add that hasn't already been said? Also, I hate seeing myself in vidoes and I hate the sound of my own voice.

You may not consider yourself to have anger management problems anymore Rich, but your comments can often be perceived to be hostile, rude or ungrateful to those trying to help you. All of these things are food to the trolls who may find your increasing agitation or sensitivity to any criticism delightfully entertaining!

I could see trolls descending on you en masse so if you go ahead with a vlog, the advice you have been given about disabling comments is good advice.

Don't. Too many vlogs out there these days from a lot of self-important people (especially on Youtube, not saying you're self-important here BTW), and that's time you could be using for something more constructive that doesn't involve showing your face for the world to see. Seriously and honestly, and I mean this well, but you need to work on yourself first above all things.

You can disable comments, sure, but that's not going to stop you from being a potential target. Who's to say you won't be exploited again? Why would you want to repeat the same process that's caused you pain in the past? If you want to go on ahead and do it though, don't say you weren't warned.

I had only got started on this. I like see how far I go with it, it is really fun video blogging and like hearing from different points of view.

It's my second upload.

Ouch!!! This video has some really loud static noise which really hurt my ears and made me stop listening - I suggest you edit this out, because it might put people with auditory sensitivity off watching.

I will be changing the intro as I keep uploading my feeds. For my 3rd video, I'll see what I can do to make it different as I was going to do anyway.

Once my feeds are uploaded, by my books there's no going back.

He might also be advised to edit out that bit that looks like the old BBC "test pattern" at the beginning, the bright colours could cause seizures in Epileptic Aspies.

I don't do video blogging because I have a short fuse and a comment that pissed me off is likely to get responded to. In the end, it would only upset me so I just don't do it. I am, what you would call, filet mignon for a troll.
