Vote for the web-browser you use.

I'm really curious to see what percentage of you use Chrome (and, of course, Pale Moon . . . the browser I tell everyone to download :bounce:).

Pale Moon is a customised Firefox-based browser for Microsoft-based systems.

I use Chrome at the moment, because I am a fan of everything Google, as long as it's Google, I try to get my hands on it.

But, for now, I installed Pale Moon, so I think I'll have a good time :)

Please tell us about any differences you notice. If it really is that good, I'll download it too!

From Wikipedia:

Pale Moon makes use of compiler optimizations by using Microsoft C compiler's "/O2" and "/Ox" flags to increase performance of the browser. The resulting browser will not run on particularly old hardware as a result, but by cutting out support for older systems, Pale Moon works with an optimized code base that takes full advantage of modern processor instruction sets.

Further performance tuning is achieved by removing rarely used functions of Firefox, including accessibility features, parental controls, crash reporter, ActiveX and Active Scripting.

These optimization techniques increased the subjective performance of Pale Moon as compared to Firefox.

To me, on my system, it definitely feels faster than Firefox. But on some sites, you won't perceive much of a speed difference from Firefox. Overall though, I prefer using it over Firefox since it consumes less ram and is slightly speedier. I also like that it's compatible with Firefox add-ons and plug-ins.

I just wanna let you know that if you do make the switch to Pale Moon note that it, by default, disables automatic add-on updates and, I believe, automatic updates of the Pale Moon browser. I guess it's because nerds (these are the people Pale Moon is mostly targeted at :P) often prefer to manually update their apps. I recommend that you turn on automatic updates if you're like me and often forget to manually update your apps.

To do so, click on Tools, Add-ons, and select Update Add-ons Automatically:

When you're done that, click on Tools, Options, Advanced, click on the Update tab and make everything look like this (also put a check mark beside Search Engines if you use the search-engine box):

I use Pale Moon currently.

It's much faster, it's a smoother experience, I get to use the same old bookmarks as I did.

Oh, I missed those Google-specific apps I had on Google Chrome, but who cares, Pale Moon is so much cooler. :D

I still use chrome and from the looks of it I'll keep using it.

I don't see anything wrong with Chrome... yet. Bookmarks are synched up to my gmail account, which works fine with chrome. In the past I had some issues where I lost all bookmarks with firefox (for whatever reason).

I might just as well revert to IE instead of Firefox if I want to... the reason I got into chrome was because firefox didn't even start anymore and I grew accustomed to Chrome. The reason I once got away from IE is because of I tend to browse multiple tabs at a time... IE didn't have that when FF came out.

I used to run safari as well when I was working on websites more to see if there were compatibility issues... but since I don't do work like that at the moment Safari is sidelined (except on the iPad of course).

Now that you're a Pale Moon user, you'll have to vote for it in the poll. :D

I voted for Chrome even though I use IE 90% of the time. IE is the only one my work will let us use but at home I only use Chrome. I hate IE.

You should install Pale Moon on the computers at your job. You'll get a raise. :P

I used Opera, I used Chrome, I used IE and every other Web browser I could think of.

For now, though, I'm most satisfied with Pale Moon.

I feel so good, maybe I'll get a pay raise and a smile from my supervisor, given that I'll do more efficient work with the smooth use of Pale Moon :D

I am not ashamed to say this:

I voted for Chrome in this poll, I used Chrome to switch to Pale Moon, and I hadn't looked back since then. :D

I'm currently the sole voter for Firefox. I love my Firefox; I've been using it ever since I discovered browsers other than IE existed (so rather a long time!).

I've always stuck to chrome, although I currently don't have a computer. When I get one I may look into others like pale moon, perhaps, but I've never had any chrome problems before and may just stick to that (or get both, I always like to have more than one in case one browser fails for some reason).

Since you're a Chrome user, you might be interested in Comodo Dragon. It doesn't have many benefits over Chrome other than it not allowing Google to "spy" on you, but if you're a privacy whore that might be a good enough reason for you to make the switch. :smug:

Do you own a PC or a Mac? If the latter, note that Pale Moon and, I believe, Comodo Dragon are Windows-only.
