Hey peeps,

I'm Andrew from London, England. 32 and I've been told I possibly have Asperger's syndrome..... I guess who are all pretty used to seeing these posts but I have no idea what to do or say and such but thought it best to come & say hi.

I'm hoping to go through some more assessments and such over the next few weeks, then once I get my refferal, I'll probs pay to get my full assessment done, as I need to know for sure as soon as possibly.

I didn't say much about me actually. I'm married and have been for just under 4 years (4 years exactly on the 17th Aug). I love music, photography, films, TV and such. I'm a terrible social networking nerd and I can always be found on one of my pages.

If you wanna see some of my photography work, follow me on places like Flickr, 500px or Viewbug and just follow my ramblings on Twitter (Personal & Photography) and Facebook, hit me up. I'm very easy going & such.

Welcome to the forum, Andrew! I hope your assessment doesn't end up costing you too much out of pocket. Please feel free to participate as you see fit.

Hey guys, thank you for saying hello.

Yeah, I hope so too. It is lucky we can get things free over in the UK but with everyone wanting a piece of something free, it would take quite a long time to get it done and dusted. I don't know how anyone could wait that amount of time, it would kill me not knowing for anything up to and over a year? What the hell!

Hi Andrew

Have a great time here on Aspies Central!

I personally think AC is a place where we can have lots of fun, listening to other people's music on some threads, and in others, learning about others' music. :D

Hi Andrew welcome to AC. Join the water its nice and warm and a bit friendly here. I hope you get a chance to look around and hang out and get support. There are a lot of people in differing stages of diagnosis from the beginning to being diagnosised to being NT. We have many people here and they all offer a wonderful array of support. Welcome! :)

Welcome Andrew. Feel free to participate. If you think you are aspie, that's good enough for anyone here. Don't feel like you need an "official" diagnosis.

Hi Andrew- well done for getting this far and sticking at it-I have been reading your blogs and wanted to reply but not on your blog page. I am working hard trying to find better more consistent pathways to Aspergers diagnosis for others-would you be able to tell me which borough you are in?- I have made some inroads to this problem, not a great many, but I am making contacts- I will try and get some more info next week but for now go onto the National Autistic society website-It seems that you may well be on the spectrum-either way you need some help and the appropriate support-the difference of having a diagnosis is that it allows you to put things into perspective-its not about anyone else its about you and how you feel-

I suspect you may have some co-morbid symptoms- I had the same -I call them negative coping strategies-there appear to be misdirected anger and frustration due to your lack of understanding of whats happening to you and consequently others around you- making sense of what or who you are is the first step in putting order into your life- its up to you what you do with that information once you get it but for me it has been both a life giver and saver-my life was about as bad as it could get-my diagnosis changed all that- I was misdiagnosed for a while which really caused problems but all is in order now-You can not change or control others around you but you can help and take control of yourself. The final part of the puzzle is what you do with it (your diagnosis) as I said i.e acceptance. I hope you take what I have written in good faith-we are all looking for support and when we can give it the circle is complete

Here is a brief history of my battle with my diagnosis

For a long time I fought against the tide then I turned and swam with the flow and when the water was too fast I simply got out of the water and watched for a while:):balanced::cool:
