Hi guys, It's me again. I was in a tough time these days, but luckily I have almost done with my work. By referencing a lot of your preferences in the last few threads, I have designed a product for the concept. What do you think about the appearance? Like or dislike? leave your comments here, thanks for all the help.

Hi Shawn,

I'm not even sure what that is. A rice steamer? I can't even guess what the small hand tool is.

Below is a picture very similar to what I use. Can be used on the stove top, in the oven, on a wood fire, etc. Easily cleaned. Easy to see what's cooking.

P.S. I think mine is made in China. :)

I like the wood look. Not sure what it all is either.
The pots look as if the round tops with the handle have a vent hole in them so steam can escape?

The small tool appears to be a meat tenderizer or crushing appliance.
Need explanation of the round things with white pieces on them.
What are the white things used for under the round tops?

To me it looks like some sort of cutting or slicing arrangement, steel blades following the grooves in the plastic. But I can't imagine what you would cut with such things.

(click on the picture to see it in a new window, then click on it again to see it full size)

Actually, you are right, those are for cutting the ingredients. I see you are confused with the small pieces. Thats not the key part, just some common cutting slices (I referenced this kind of approach is bcoz I saw some people mention they feel difficult to control the knife, it is a bit dangerous here... This shape might help protect.)

I am sorry now this image is a bit confusing. I'll post some more images to help illustrate how to use it and other things. I am not quite good at designing a product, and in fact, this is my first time doing a formal product design project, so, might be a bit confusing and the rest of the images might be not quite well rendered (softwares are really difficult to me, I was used to designing through making things by hand).

So, for now, I am still working on the rest of the things, just have a look at the textures, colors, shapes, and the whole feeling. Anything makes you uncomfortable, anything you like or dislike, these kinds of things (the cutting method is not so that important though).

XD Chinese style. A few years before, almost every family got these. Now the shapes are more diverse.

I like them. A couple of adjustments would be necessary, though. First, the handle for lifting the lid needs to be bigger, so you can get a good grip on it. Secondly, the lid needs to be slightly concave to allow condensed steam to run back down into the pot.

Just another thought that could maybe be used to compliment your design ideas. When I was a kid there were many simple recipes for meals that children could cook. Not individual meals, family meals.

Cooking a meal that the rest of the family enjoys is possibly the greatest encouragement a child could get to try other things. Here’s one of those recipes:

Apricot Chicken

1 Kg diced chicken meat
1 packet French Onion soup powder
1 tin of Apricot Nectar (405 ml)
405 ml water

Put all ingredients in a pot and put it on a low heat, simmer for 1 hour, stir occasionally.
Serve with steamed rice.

Very easy, very tasty, and cheap.

I like it. If the wood had a lighter color, less dark, it would 'pop' more I think. A little brighter color on wood on items like that is often more visually appealing. But it looks nice.

I like it. Aesthetically pleasing is how I would describe it. Going purely by looks, I would say you did a pretty good job.

It is pretty. To me, it seems as though possibly form has been prioritized over function.

From an underwriting, marketing and consumer standpoint, you need to rethink the finishes/laminates of what presumably we might call a "hotplate device". That you don't want any surfaces of such a device to even appear to be combustible. Which won't sit well with a few consumers, let alone most if not all product regulators.

With such things it's always best to consider products liability first, and design appeal second.

Induction cooktop set? Seriously, if fairly intelligent people cannot tell what it is and how it functions, it can be as pretty as a new penny and no one will bother with it because they don't have workable context, only a picture and no description...be clear and concise with communication.
