What have you achieved today?

...and I don't mean the things the world thinks we should achieve, I mean the things we feel proud of, even if others might think they're nothing to be proud of!

Today I slept in until almost 11am, which is an achievement when you have kids.

I sent a snooty email to someone I work for as a contractor because they were being sh*t and unprofessional, even though being snooty is something I'm scared of usually.

I sat in the backyard and drank beer and watched a chicken slowly turn on the char rotisserie (actually I'm still doing that), and didn't feel guilty about doing nothing (and doing it well).

I also took a grand photo of myself, which is an achievement because I often look deranged when photographed :P

What about you guys? :)

Well.. if anything I achieved to not fall asleep, lol. And from the looks of it, I wont be sleeping either for the next 19 hours or so. I'll keep you all updated how this achievement is going.

Let's see. We had family over. Thanksgiving here in the US, yesterday. So we had a couple of my sisters over and their significant others. We were still eating the last of the turkey and we have plenty of pie left over. One of my (many) sisters had brought over some couches one of my sister (who did not attend this year) gave us. I don't think that the couches look that great but they got cleaned up by some of the people in attendance- and the old furniture went out the door. Eventually all of my sisters and significant others left, too.

I am a disabled 40-year old who lives with my parents. So I texted my ex about Christmas for my daughter. I don't have the money to get Christmas, so I texted my payee (one of my sister who had been here earlier.

No, I don't think I got much accomplished.

Sounds to me like you survived a family event, which is an achievement in my book :)

Today I got to show my oldest son how to trouble shoot a electrical circuit. When I get behind on my work and he has time, I'll hire him to help me. He's a pretty good mechanic, but has trouble with electronics. We were working on a electric forklift. The machine was dead, nothing worked and nothing powered up. He said that he had no idea how to start. I showed him the circuit on the schematic that powers up the machine and how to check the circuits with a meter. I had him check the circuit, section at a time. We found a open and repaired it. I got my machine repaired and he understood what we did. It was a good day.

That does sound like a good day :)

Got most of my Christmas cards finished, ready to be mailed. Just glad to get it out of the way. Looking forward to getting my brother's gift sent, as soon as it arrives here first. I just like to get all these things done before December 7th each year.

Christmas remains "complicated" for me every year. Hard to even explain...

Paid three bills, mailed an order, got groceries, got some medicine for the kid to combat his cold, cooked supper, prepared supper for tomorrow, and pissed off the husband. I've had a full day. Now if tomorrow will kindly be less full, I have a lot of work to catch up on.

I completed a compulsory letter the girls going into year seven next year and it didn't appear overly negative. It took me 4 hours and every second was torture.

I found a bunch of free pdf files for otherwise expensive textbooks. Now, I get to make a learning schedule for myself for the next 6 weeks. :) I feel like I'm a kid again and playing school (yeah, lol, I'd test myself and give myself essay topics, etc).

I managed to make it to my Job Readiness class and get some DVDs organized. There's so much more to do, but these days, with the seasonal depression and all, I'm happy to call any accomplishment a victory. :)

I went into the city with a friend, first time in nearly 40 years. She guided me away from situations that would be 'tense' and we got to have a wonderful night at the ballet :D

I managed to eat a whole lot of delicious unhealthy food, and went out for a few hours with a couple of friends to eat more food. At least I didn't have to attempt to cook anything!
