I'm currently using ubuntu at the moment on the second partition on my laptop and I use Windows Vista mostly because I feel more comfortable and I'm more familiar with the system itself, also for instant messaging and gaming.

I use ubuntu occasionally when I don't really have the patience to wait to boot up the computer since ubuntu has a really fast boot up time, plus I'm also using the 64bit version which is really mega fast and also doesn't seem to have major problems and I would highly recommend it, best of all, you can download it for free and burn it to a CD or actually download the actual installer itself.

So yea, I created a poll and also, what operating system you use?

Windows 7 - the best Windows OS yet. I also think it's a look into what the Windows OS may look like in the future. Definately looking forward to the next release.

Almost forgot to mention...64-bit :D

I'm now using vista but its just hopeless, all what's happening is failures, so I'm hoping to upgrade to windows 7 soon and I can't wait, but hopelessly have to wait till I get paid first. :(

I find it alot easier to just use Windows since I'm familar with it.
What I use with ubuntu is just customising it and just recently, I actually made my ubuntu look very much like mac, I thought that was pretty awesome.

I post my screenshot when I use ubuntu again.

my os is windows black and it has to were it can look like a mac and act like 1 too
it can make it look like windows but act like a mac
it can make it look like a mac but like windows
and windows can act like windows

well, as a professional programmer I like linux the best. but I don't understand why Ububtu in the poll stands apart from linux? it's pure linux, debian-based.

That's actually very much true actually.. I decided to take ubuntu off the poll. :)

I was thinking about starting to upgrade my system to Windows 7 right after my birthday and I was thinking, how good would windows 7 be in performance wise?

depends what the system is, any specs? imo 7 utilises resources very well, it runs just as well on my 1.6 atom netbook as it does on my 2.8 quadcore rig
