What traits do you like and which do you NOT like?

1)The obsessive interest can be of concern mine range from small to big. For example small I really want to buy a DVD,I can't wait to buy those DVD's etc. (That's all I'll talk about) Big would= When I was doing Psychology research papers I did them constantly!!! (Oh and I've been obsessed with a person before landing me ALMOST fired from my first job and an issue leading to being kicked out of College but that was just part of it.

(I like the special interest for my sake but they upset my family that that's all I'll talk about. :-(

2) I show emotion inappropriately (I laugh at the wrong moments)

My family hates when I do this!!

Social skills

I have ZERO Real life friends! I have no social life of any kind. I wish I did but oh well.

(I'll post more when I think of them)

same here, i have found i over think what i am going to say (on the few times i speak to people)but focus on what if i said something wrong, and then promptly say what i didnt want to say. as far as obsessions go i get obsessive about little things like when i was doing my BTEC ND in Construction when i was doing the brickwork section i had to get all the bricks exactly the same- got frustrating but i came out of it with an overall distinction so it was good. apparently stacking of blocks or something is an early sign of something autistic i read somewhere ages ago, cant remember any more. i was planning on saying something else but i cant remember now, my memory really isnt the best
 
Hmm. I used to build stuff out of blocks and so on before I was at school, at play groups and stuff. :unsure: :P

Seriously though, I don't like the fact that I have poor social skills. Yes, this last year I have made new friends and made significant advances, but i'm still the quiet old me. I don't know what to say at times and when I do have something to say, the words won't come out. My brother is the main person who helps me to socialise and arranges meet-ups with other people. Without him, I would most likely not have the friends that I have now. I also still get nervous in social situations and around people though it's not as bad as it used to be.
 
Yeah, bad social skills is totally the most annoying part of being an aspie. I find myself interrupting others when they speak cause I need to add something or just cause I can't wait 'til they have finished talking. I also can't stand being with people who clearly lack a great deal of intelligence.

Also, I'm a stubborn elitist in some sittuations (or most of the time). Especially when I'm 110% sure that my info is correct. It has caused many uncomfortable sittuations in the past and without doubt will continue do so until I have learned to control it better. People sometimes tends to believe I'm lying (even my shrink thought I wasn't speaking the truth once) and my theory is that they lack the knowledge I have and therefor refuse to accept that what I'm saying is the truth. However, I'm not 100% sure that this has to do with aspergers syndrome..

What I like however is my expertise in some areas and my memory of things that interest me (I'm having serious problems remembering stuff that doesn't interest me) that somehow seems to make a positive impression on most normal people.

I can be somewhat ignorant, especially when I want to talk about what interests me. And therefor not listen to others or just ignore the fact that they don't want to listen to me. And this both bothers me and my enviorment alot. Working on controlling myself in that aspect though...
 
Don't like:
1) Having a schizoid personality(IMO it manifested from a lack of social skills).
2) Lack of social skills.
3) Not feeling orthodox emotions(don't feel love when other people love me- have to lie).
4) Can't even fake normality so _everyone_ treats me differently to others unless they're like me.
5) Being ****ed up quite a bit(it's so hard to explain, but I mean, pleh. I'm just really ****ed up imo).
6) Sensory issues.
Like:
1) High intelligence(IMO AS).
2) Wide vocabulary.
3) Liberal views.
4) Unique.
Yeah. No. 5 alone out-weighs all the positives, I just can't explain why.

the only trait i really have is not knowing how to start a conversation with someone i'm shy around. it sucks.

i do enjoy having a high IQ, but i can't seem to connect that with AS :/

are you reacting to something funny, or just plain laughing? i do that sometimes. it's always because i'm thinking of something funny or trying to ease a tense situation.

Well I think to ease the tension of the situation. :-)
 
I don't like that:

1) I stutter when i'm nervous.
2) twitch.
3) Sometimes unsocialable when I want to be social. (im alright online though)
4) can't handle or indentify some of the moods. :(

but what I like is that:

1) I'm multi-talented
2) I'm genuinely funny (as they say?) :whistle:
3) I weirdly enjoy stimming
4) i'm creative.
 
Hmm. I don't like the panic attacks or the meltdowns. I also don't like being socially awkward. I like being creative (to an extent, I'm not awesomely creative, but still) and I like the high(ish) IQ. I like the way I write things, when I put my mind to it :)

I guess I should add to that my list of things I don't like....
But my meltdown's are always horrible. :(
Only difference is that my IQ is about average. :(

Yep, I do that a lot. I was on Duke of Edinburgh Expedition last summer. There were six people on my team and I was one of two who had maps. I remember having a long argument about where we were on the map. In the end I used triangulation and proved that I was right. I try not to keep correcting people but if I am 110% sure I am right, I will fight my cause!
 
Like:
- The focus
- The imagination

Dislike:
- The tendency to believe NTs in general are higher authorities, especially on social stuff.
 
like: -great memory
-imagination
- that I´m good with animals
- focus
-the special intrest.

dislike: -the stress that noise cause me.
- the fact that I am bad for reacting verbaly when I´m angry.
- I get stressed very easily with changes
