What was the first video or computer game you played

What was the first video or computer game you remember playing? My first one was a stealth game called Thief 2. I just started playing it again and it is still fun after 16 years. Once I played this game I liked it so much I decided to start playing other games. I still enjoy playing games today.

I think it was a game called Number Munchers, which I was too young to realize was educational. They tricked me!

I'm not entirely sure what the first game I played was anymore, I only know (or oldest memory) was when I was about 4-5 years old in 2005. -- I'm not entirely sure what game it was as I stated, but the oldest games I remember playing (around 4-6 were all Strategy games (I was already into strategy that early). -- Which would be the Empire Earth series, Age of Empire Series, and Stronghold Series (Especially Stronghold Legends).

I was actually very good at them back than, I haven't played them like at all for nearly a decade now, but I'd like to get back into them. -- The longest game I've played (and still play) is Minecraft, sense 2010.

Probably Pong, at a coffee table sized console, in a bowling alley bar! Then Breakout and Space Invaders (arcade style) at pubs. Video killed the Pinball star.

Heck if I know. My parents bought an Atari 2600 just before I was born. I'm told that I started with it at age 2 or 3.

But what game? Too many possibilities. I was born in 81, so the console had been out for a couple of years already.

I still have all of the games from back then, too. They all still work just fine. Granted the console itself died somehow, but finding a proper working one is really easy still. When people say "they dont make 'em like they used to", it's really true, as it turns out. Nowadays there's planned obsolescence, things dying/breaking on purpose because the designers are asshats. Back then, everything was indestructible.

Except the old NES. That thing died if you looked at it too hard.

The longest game I've played (and still play) is Minecraft, sense 2010.

Yeah, same here. Been a huge fan of it ever since it first appeared. I have so many bits of merchandise related to it.

Geez, has it really been 8 freaking years? Ugh. I could have gone without realizing that, really.

I’m not sure. Actually, I remember a dialup game called “you’ve got mail”. I’m not sure if this was a game but it sure did take patience as I waited for the game to start on my Gateway game pad. LOL!

Never knew the name of the game, it was the first computer game I ever played as opposed to games in an arcade. Girlfriend's 'chum' worked at one of the first Macintosh computer stores in the area.

He wanted to sell me a Mac, which was incredibly costly at the time, and he likely knew I couldn't afford one as a student. So, he brought the system over to my apartment and set it up. Saying that we could use it for a week.

We played the only game on the system, it was a detective game in which you as the detective wake up in a bathroom stall after being knocked unconscious. Text based game in which you search for clues and attempt to find out who you are as you have lost your memory, by collecting clues and moving around from place to place. I played the game for eighteen hours straight! Had to solve the mystery, and became completely addicted to the game.

Settlers 3 (outside of germany not so popular), that game was already getting a decade old, some years later my parents started cracking down on violent games (even chess was one). Kinda proud of myself to have started off and liked playing a strategy game as a kid.

I have always avoided games, because of recognising the addiction, but one time, I was drawn to a video game on Sherlock Holmes and did purchase it and as thought, got addicted to it.

Space Invaders I suppose? Or Pacman, or Tetris? I really don't know. I've never been into video/computer games.

The first game I can remember the name of was Bygg biler med Mulle Mekk (Building Cars with Gary Gadget)
And it is the only game my father had been interested in playing, as he used to play it after I had gone to bed.
