Hi everyone!
I'm Kim from the USA and I am self-diagnosed as of December. At 21 years old, I am hoping to get an official diagnosis soon. Which is unfortunately difficult as all Asperger's and Autism Assessment in my area is aimed at children.
Asperger's was introduced to me by one of my college professors during November. She said that I reminded her a lot of her son, who was diagnosed at a young age. This professor has been tremendously helpful in pointing me in the right direction in terms of autism literature and research, as well as teaching me that I am not less of a human being because of my diagnosis. Nor is anyone else on the spectrum, for that matter. As I am fairly new to the community, I apologize in advance if I am ignorant in certain areas. If I offend you, I am not trying to be mean, I likely just don't know what I am talking about.
I look forward to learning more about and being a part of my new-found community. I can't wait to get to know you all, and I hope we can be friends.
