Who here is into film making and animations?

I used to make alot of YouTube videos and alot of animations just using paint and movie maker to make stop frame animations and it would always turn out pretty good, yet hated the fact that it would just take forever but yea, the results turn out pretty awesome and would always rock. :D

While for YouTube videos, mainky would be random stuff or just drama but then sort of drifted onto vlogging but that didn't exactly go too well so I then sort of quit making them for a while since I had alot going on in my mind and was stuck doing the college work that I would literally not much time to get it finished off and would be posting alot of things in the forums.

I also love using the cameras and to see how it worked.

I even had the opportunity to actually get to try out a camera on the open day at my college for my next years course just for a trial run and the idea what we would be doing next year in the course and the idea of what I would be doing.

I loved everything about it and it could possibly be my future goal.

Anyone who is into filming/animations here?

I used to do Flash animation for website design and create animations in Photoshop like avatars and advert banners. With regards to film making, I mainly do vlogs and stuff as you know. In fact I'm supposed to do a video today but may put that off until tomorrow. I also take videos with my camera of different stuff when I'm out and find something worth taking a video of.

Kempy does film making but haven't seen him around the forums in a while.

Yeah! I was just thinking that I want to get back into making short films. I used to make them when I was younger. I think I stopped because I got mad when my "actors" didn't understand what I wanted them to do. Hmm Maybe I can do some films without other people?

I know that can be a little frustrating at times where you have to get people in place or something goes wrong, you know when you filmed your little short film, did you do them by script or just a free run basically just do it freely without a script?

I normally do films of my own though, I sometimes include people in it like my siblings.

here is my short clip that I did on youtube.

I have yet, to learn film making, but I enjoy watching animations. My favourite animation, is "The Lonely Toaster".

I used to make stop-frame animations too, using Paint and Window's Movie Maker. I also enjoy making music videos and filming with the camera.

Here I am!
Film-making is my main obsession and I would love to get into the film industry.
I was going to make a film about AS but I struggled to find reliable people to be in it. I still shot about half of the film and picked up plenty of new skills which I think is the most important thing at the moment. I would like to start another film project, although I have very few ideas written down so far. I'll probably include some of the storyline for my other film.

My only real idea's at the moment is that I want to set some of the film in some derelict places. I've been doing volunteer work at a local youth centre/laser tag arena and I've met plenty of people who might help me make a film.

I think you can make a film on your own, but nobody can do everything, and if you can teach other people to do some of the smaller jobs, you will have more time to do the jobs you are really good at. This will be one of my considerations before I start my next film.

I want to get into it making cartoons, I can do voices/change my voice, and I
just can't suss out how to do animations other than claymations wihich
I want to do also when I get a better camera.

I can edit video so I can make the fotos, then assemble the frames
in the video editor, 24 frames per second, then lay down the voices
as I watch it and add music as I go.

Can't do mouth lip speak shape thingy yet, just sync mouth
movement to speech.

I've done a bit of animation as part of my art course; it was really fun but I can't see myself making a career out of it tbh. :)

I love making films and I notice that when other people I know make films, they film it all in one long take, rather than shooting different shots and editing them together. I prefer to do the latter. I love experimenting with the types of shots and you can often fit some really unusual shots in there. I own three tripods, the smallest one having wheels attatched to the bottom. I think I'm quite steady with the camera, so even without a tripod, I can still make the shots smooth-looking. I own at least three digital cameras and five movie cameras. I know a lot about movie-making. If someone asks me what a certain job role is, I'll be able to tell them, or if someone wants to know something about the movie-making proccess, I'll have an answer.
I'm a perfectionist, which is why it takes me an hour to shoot a two minute long film. To shoot a ten minute long film, it took me two nights. Editing(video and sound) takes about an hour for a two minute film.
The films are always unscripted. First, I think of the basic storyline. With that sorted, I then tell the actor/s that storyline and then tell them what they'll be doing in the first shot. I just make up the smaller details as I go. It'll usually take two to three takes to satisfy me, however, a tricky scene to do may take longer than that. I hate goofs(camera shadows/reflections, continuity errors, etc), which is sometimes the reason for multiple takes.
I'm quite good at spotting goofs in movies and I really enjoy finding them.
But when they're in my own movies, It's not so good.
When I've finished filming, I'll usually import the video files onto my laptop, then edit them using AVS video edtor.
I've only tried animation a couple of times, stop motion videos where I'll take a picture of something, then move it a bit, take a picture, move it again, take a picture... I'll repeat this and put the pictures together in my video editing software and reduce the duration of each frame to a suitable length.

I've been into film since the 10th grade. I've always been a writer, but I recently discovered the film industry as a way to further express my writing and ideas. I use film and animation to take a more visual approach to telling a certain story. I love animation because you don't have the same limitations you have with live film. You can draw just about anything as long as you have a reasonable explanation for everything. :) I'm enrolling in a film course as of next semester, so hopefully I can learn the basics and make my first movie come to life.

I LOVE computer animation. I've been really into it ever since 7th grade. It's my biggest obsession, by far.

I remember when my dad bought me a $300 animation program just so I could practice. I was so lost when I first opened it up. I'm in 10th grade now, and I know the whole thing inside out 100% and have my own cartoon series!
I am in the process of making a two hour long movie.

Computer animation will most certainly be my career. I also like traditional frame-by-frame animation because I grew up drawing a lot, but I lean more towards 2D computer animation.
I just registered to this forum and it's nice seeing people with similar interests!

I wish to be a writer, director, actor (if it wasn't for social anxiety) but haven't made anything other than a behind the scenes Doctor Who parody a friend and I made and put on youtube. I played Christopher Eccleston. I have done 20+ television scripts and 2 film scripts though, and sent one off to the BBC who read the whole thing and replied.

Were you good at it? Even though I've started it as a novel, I'm hoping that I can make my animated Heroes season 5. Thought it would most likely be too much for one person to animate and I wouldn't be able to pay, or at least not much. :(

I am interested in screenwriting. I used to think i wanted to be a filmmaker, but i realized i wouldn't be able to handle the pressure and deal with all the people who would be involved in it.

Again, I'm interested in trying out collaborative writing if you want to give it a shot. I have MSN/Skype to chat on so just send a pm if you're interested.

Right now I'm working on an animated adaptation of Mike Shapiro's Joe The Circle webcomic. He was nice enough to give me permission as long as I didn't monetize it, which is fine because I wasn't planning to anyway. What I am hoping, though, is to eventually be able to secure the rights properly and pitch a series of animated shorts adapting the strip's storylines (it's a serial with 10-15 strips per arc and there's currently twelve arcs finished and he's in the middle of the thirteenth).

I love to make 2D cartoons on my computer. I don't do it much nowadays (I'm more of a writer), but I just got accepted into Art College where I will partake in a four year program that is all Media Arts and Animation, where I'll learn 3D computer animation for a career.
