Who is your favourite 'good/friendly' extraterrestrial from movies/tv shows?

For the most part, movies and/or TV shows we see that include visitors from other worlds often show these aliens as been evil beings who only want to pillage, conquer, destroy or a combination of what I've just wrote.
So, it's a pleasant change when we see aliens or alien machines who actually are good/friendly, even if they look or sound weird or scare us unintentionally.

So, do you have a favourite good alien?

Here's some examples of the friendly extraterrestrials/extraterrestrial machines that have visited our little blue planet:

1. The Doctor - Doctor Who (TV Series)

2. E.T - E.T The Extra Terrestrial (Movie)

3. Kal-El/Superman - Various Media (Movies/TV Series)

4. Starman - Starman (Movie)

5. Klaatu - The Day The Earth Stood Still 1951 (Movie)

6. Cole/Daggon - Tracker (TV Series)

7. George Sunday/Thermoman - My Hero (TV Series)

8. NTI's - The Abyss (Movie)

I'm currently catching up on Defiance... that show features quite a few aliens. And depending on your perspective, they can be good (or at least have "best intentions").

I'm quite enjoying Datak and Stahma Tarr from that show, though I'm quite sure people will disagree in that they're evil and full of bad intentions.

Going through my dvd collection... it's hard to find any aliens who weren't bent on taking over the planet and causing havoc. And even less that actually came to earth. Essentially it takes out any Star wars characters. I was about to say "I like Riddick" but I don't think Earth even plays a significant part in those movies at all.

I always had a thang for T'Pol in "Enterprise".

Must have been her Aspie...er uh..Vulcan logic.

I was actually thinking of Good/Friendly aliens in general, so Yoda could be on the list. :D

Evil? Naww. I just like to think they both put an "extraterrestrial spin" on the idea of "good cop/bad cop". Datak is all about brute force, and Stahma is all about subterfuge in nurturing their own agendas. They make quite a team...even if and when they operate mutually exclusive of one another.

Or simply put, IMO they make the show.

I would have to say Christopher from District 9, one of my favorite movies.
I was thinking District 9 too. I remember, a poll was conducted one time, in which they asked the participants which alien movie they thought was the most plausible. E.T. The Extraterrestrial won, and it made me really depressed to think that I know for certain D9 was by far the most realistic. :(

I agree. I think D9 did a great job of portraying the paranoid, xenophobic nature of general humankind.

The Doctor has always been my favourite. I wanted to be just like the Doctor when I was young. He was my role model growing up, my parents weren't up to the job.

Yup. I'm with you 100% on this. I'd forgotten about this until I read your post. I think a lot of the way I understand people has been based on me reading so many dr who books as a kid. Good call! :D

Thinking about it some more, I liked those furry aliens from Earth Girls Are Easy - even if they did look like humans when all/most of their hair had been shaved off.
