Why am I so impatient?

I have often struggled with this

This year?

The first proper springtime start to a classic car show season since 2019 (we know why), meantime it's mid-May and it has been a rather pathetic start due to crappy weather

I still haven't made it to a good-sized cruise evening, because there hasn't been one yet (weather)

Weekend car shows have been under-whelming with low attendance (weather)

And we always have a rather short show season to begin with, only May to September... I know plenty of places that have a far longer car show season than we do...

I'm mildly depressed right now, even with a strong wind tonight I drove far enough to one spot where a cruise night happens (maybe I was feeling desperate), and no one was there, waited for awhile before turning around and heading back home, with my tail between my legs... o_O

And June is typically our wettest month of the year, so what does that mean... Not terribly happy right now...

If you owned a nice collector ride, you would fully understand why weather would be a factor.
My old Caprice was clean enough to pass a white rag test under the hood.
I used to wax my engine and engine bay each time I washed my car.
One trip in the rain and all of that was destroyed.
Have you ever hand washed the wheel houses on a car?
Probably not.
It wasn't uncommon for me to unbolt the seats on most of my performance rides just to vacuum the carpeting.

@Nitro

I do understand why weather can be a factor, but am I allowed to be impatient? especially with our short season (we're not California!), I'm sure other classic car owners are thinking the same as me...

And given the last two years there is a lot of anticipation and anxious people

I have a friend that enters his XKE Jag in concours events.
It is a 96 point car that spends most of it's life in an enclosed trailer under blankets in a climate controlled garage.
It takes two people a week to prep it for shows.
At even a hint of rain, it goes back inside it's enclosed trailer because of how well it's kept.

Impatience for a show circuit would never allow for it to get trashed.

This is the nearly finished engine bay of a '68 Ford Mustang rag top I built as a kid:

Yes, that is white with Ford blue trim.
The radiator tank in the foreground is polished brass.

And I just realized that a new job contract I'm about to start (likely), could mean I won't make it to one of my favourite large car shows in early June :( one I haven't been to since 2018...

Just having trouble being positive tonight

I could cook food on that it's so clean. Lol.

Sherlock just tell them you have a family funeral to attend that day?

My Caprice on the left at a '65/66 full sized Chevy show in the infield at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

Oh boy. So big on the inside. I can just think why those cars were so fun in the day. Lol

They are so comfortable.

Tonight... Storm clouds, windy, cold weather (about 5 Celcius), it is close by so I went to the cruise night despite the weather... A grand sum of five cars, some would be classified as beater cars, Bob came in his handbuilt Duesenberg (I've seen it many times over 15 years)... It just seems like a slow spring... There is one daytime car show tomorrow that is supposed to be better weather, but still slightly chilly...
