Why do I obsess over stupid things?

I'm doing it again, browsing through photos from a local classic car show last weekend

I didn't go because I can't - my car situation - but then again I might not have gone anyway, but...

This photo, an unusual private import British or European car, and I didn't see it in person obviously, and I'm not happy

And with my luck I'll probably never see it ever, also because I can't be everywhere all at once anyway, or predict which cars will be at a car show

I've been like this for years, and I know it's not right but I need to deal with it better, I just have a tendency to be very tactile, a photo of something I didn't see isn't enough for me... And in some ways it's so stupid

I find serious topics, spoken in serious demeanor, by serious people, comically absurd. It is all kinda 'stupid' at the end of the day, it is only the gravity we associate with the topic that makes it stupid or not.

You missed the car show? I wouldn't call that stupid, or say the associated emotions that come from missing the car show are stupid. It is evident it means a lot to you, the point of emotional significance in itself absolves any absurdity.

I think part of life is realizing how silly everything is, there is a scary lack of a point to all this, so any meaning we establish is equally meaningful to anything else. Do you find meaning in finding private import British or European cars? reminds me of a quote from a movie.
'A man can spend his life search for a perfect blossom, and it would not be a life wasted.'

I still don't feel it's right to think this way, yet that kind of thinking is the first thing that comes to mind

And I do crave seeing/spotting classic cars - unusual cars in particular, it's a constant quest for me but maybe done to overkill sometimes

Today's car show photo? A 1932 Ford Model B with a Hemi 426 engine, a very nice build

Hey, just wait a darn minute! Planes, trains, and automobiles are not stupid things. People, including myself, obsess over them, all the time, says nearly everyone who has ever been to or been part of a show. :D;)

No, I think he's got a point. It is kind of stupid to pay such attention to inanimate objects like cars. Sheesh.

Oops. Oh well, nobody's perfect. This is just a single, partial page. I have ten others. My bad.

We have a whole metropolitan area (Reno/Tahoe) that gets obsessed with such things every first week of August. Taken with a healthy dose of fun and seriousness.

Just a few weeks ago - "Hot August Nights" -Enjoy, James.

I have a friend here who also does rather long videos like this one, I don't have the patience for them  And apparently the state of California has a higher population than all of Canada, I really do live in hinterland
