Why have I been embarrassed for four years? (classic car/photography)

Today I finally got a photo of a BMW 2002 for the first time in four years!

One of my favourite classic cars, last summer at a classic car cruise events I saw one, always just missed getting a photo... They are reasonably common in the local classic car scene, but over the last four years with all my activity, a photo of a BMW 2002 eluded me until today...

For some reason this really bothered me, and in a sense I almost felt a shame over it... To clarify I saw lots of them over several years prior to that, then they suddenly just seemed to dry up... In the car show scene I just haven't seen one recently, I spotted this one just driving around...

And I keep asking asking... Why do I really care? Yet another Aspie tendency, because somehow I know I should care that much...

One cell phone photo, I took four in total... Isn't it a great looking car? :)

The tendancy to find fault in the self from an imagined failing is all too human. NTs do it. NDs do it.
It is just another case of "the shoulds".

I should have known
I should have had my camera ready
I shouldn't have assumed
I should have assumed

But if you could have actually predicited anything, you probably would have prediced a lotto win or the stock market. But you didn't predict these things either.

You didn't fail, you just aren't a magical creature.

I always smile when I see one of those old BMWs. Mostly because of a very brief, but fond memory. Saw one on the grounds of my university back in 1976, and one of the girls from our dorm was driving it way too fast around a turn.

What really got my attention was the incredible roll-resistance of this little car that wasn't terribly low to the ground. It hugged the road much like a Porsche.

I was sooooo impressed. :)

You see, ever since I have catalogued all my car photos (lots of them!), it also reminds me of large gaps of ones I haven't photographed at all, or hardly ever photographed, or hardly ever photographed in recent years, etc... o_O

That's a new one. I've never heard of someone experiencing shame for anything like that.

Maybe because I'm weird, and on never ending quest to photograph all sorts of cars I've never seen... And how can I be a true Euro car geek and go four years between BMW 2002 photos, again I know it sounds silly... The other reality is that they seem to have disappeared from local car shows...

That's great! Lots to still want to photograph. If you had noghing to want to photograph your job would be done. And that would be sad.
