Emotional externalisation. What it means to me.

Blog details

This is a blog which demonstrates my experiences of the confusing boundaries between emotional regulation and disregulation In my autistic behaviours every day.

This blog will encompass the complexities of how I think, feel, adapt (mask) and interact with the world around me, outlining the difficulties in the processes and what I do to overcome them. I’m writing this blog because I hope it can resonate with other peoples experiences; which can be extremely supportive in validating yourself with common behaviours within the community. Showing signs of emotional discomfort can make one feel isolated so I believe it is good to reach out when you can.

Today I have cried, which I haven’t done in a long time. I will describe the weirdness this has felt in great detail; and what thoughts were going through my mind at the given moment - and furthermore, what I did to overcome this emotion. This I believe, would be a great starting point to the blog; as it is quite a powerful and confusing emotion to me.
