As a little kid, when people would mention "Dixie", Before I knew about The Deep South, I thought they were talking about this area off Interstate 15, in Utah.

Coincidentally, there was also a town called "Hurricane" in the Utah desert, and a lake called Dixie Springs. You can imagine my confusion when I learned in elementary school about hurricanes being over the ocean.

United Nations General Assembly Building and the General Assembly Hall. While physically located in Manhattan, the entire 17-acre headquarters is under UN jurisdiction.

Were you actually there? I have a very strong special interest for Morocco.
Yes, all the photos I post are my own. (With the exception of two posts - Uppsala and the Warrumbungles - where I borrowed photos of places I had visited but had lost my own photos.) These photos were from my first trip to Morocco - I spent a weekend relaxing in Tangier in the middle of a couple of weeks of research meetings and conferences in Europe. I returned years later for another holiday three weeks after I retired. Most of the other photos of locations in Morocco that I have posted were from the second trip.

West Virginia State Capitol, Charleston. Completed in 1932, it is, at 232 feet, the tallest building in the state.
