What supposedly great movies do you not like?

NeoPhile

Can I get a "Bright not Broken"?
Everyone has a few movies that are considered great that they just don't get. Talk about them here.

For me, I never understood the appeal of Forrest Gump. A mentally retarded man goes through history. Big deal. Also, Fences I thought was very overrated this year. Not enough actually happened in the course of Fences to make me like it. Brokeback Mountain is another movie that I think is very overrated. No, nobody had made a gay cowboy movie to that point, but then again no one has ever made a movie about green goats that colonize one of the moons of Jupiter with blue orangutans; that doesn't mean that it's going to be a good movie.

What are the "Great" movies that you don't like?

Currently the term "mentally retarded" is held in disrepute. The more recent terminology is "intellectually impaired," or "developmentally delayed."
Probably M.R. would have been the term applied to Forrest Gump during his life time. He was born in 1944.

Not great, but very popular: The Big Lebowski. It just reminds me of all the casual stoner imbeciles I am sick of dealing with. It has a few laughs, but it's really just a stupidity film.

This may offend a few people, please forgive me. Star Wars. All of them. It just made no sense to me at all.

This was a meme I made myself! I went on the internet, found this picture, used paintbrush to write the caption, saved it on my computer, used Filezilla to put it up on the Stark State School server where I have hosting, went to the web page that I'd just put up, copied the image address and put it right here! These web classes are paying off!

I never really understood the popularity of that film either.

All of the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies.

All massively overrated, loved up by geeks all over the world.

The entire Matrix trilogy, for pretty much the same reasons.

Crazy fool :p, that was a good film.

o_O:confused: GUYS- BURN.....BURN VERY SLOWLY IN HELL FOR YOUR LACK OF VISION OKAY ;):p:D

As for me, I didn't think that the almighty 2.6 billion dollar box office smash hit 'Avatar' was worthy of the hype and I didn't like the first 'Godfather' film, so I gave up bothering to try the other two. Hopefully I can be forgiven for that.

I don't feel 100% comfortable with all the blasphemy on this thread.

They used to burn people for not liking starwars and Godfather 1, LOTR and avatar.

I'll risk My immortal soul though:

Robin hood prince of thieves.

Bridget Jones stupid diary.

i dont mean to be a pedantic ass here but forest gumps character wasnt 'retarded' he had intellectual disability [or learning disability if your from the UK], 'retarded' is an old label that doesnt exist anymore which never actually described the disability, those of us with it are not mentally slow, we just cant process so much information and within that we are not very able to adapt and change from it, but youll find if you meet a lot of us we are not mentally slow, sorry i really dont mean to be pedantic.

i actually agree about forest gump,i think its so boring.
i also rate lord of the rings as mega boring, and django unchained,oh and a million ways to die in the west-probably my most favourite western style but it really bored me, i expected better seth mcfarlane humour.

Moana. It was so underwhelming to me. Maoi is a jerk for no good reasons (I mean, he even tried to kill Moana twice, by trapping her into a cave with no way of getting out-that he tought of- and by throwing her in the water), Moana's character is not really developped, the animal sidekick is just ok, not especially cute or funny, and everything that happens in the story had no impact on the ending or on making the characters grow. Every enemy encounters were not at all important to the story. Also Moana means ocean, wich doesn't make sense because her father is afraid of it so why would he call his daughter ocean? And the ocean is supposed to be Moana's friend but it tries to kill her every once in a while and doesn't help her when it totally could?! And the songs were pretty meh, too.

Meh, just cos LOTR and Avatar are seen as "cool", doesn't mean everybody has to like them.

It is NOT blaphemous, the Church doesn't care

Frozen.

When I asked @VenomousAlbino, he said "I don't understand what everyone sees in 'The Goonies'"...to which I said something I shouldn't repeat here because he's obviously wrong.

One of my sons is a Hulk fan. When the 2003 movie came out, he would quote it saying, "Hulk smash!" To which I would retort, "No. Hulk flop!"

I'm a South Park fan, but having seen the movie loads of times I don't go round singing the song about the Uncle.

I do. Mainly only in my own home. I especially like to sing the one about 'Kyle's Mom'. I have a pretty immature sense of humour :D
