  • Buying some tissues today. All of them do have some odor. Same with toilet paper.

Its more and more difficult to find odorless tissues.

They're making toilet paper with fragrance now too?? What the hell...
Do people want their buttcracks to smell good or something?

Fortunatelly my wife did 90% of the social stuff. So many kind people, so many kids. Tired but happy.
I know I do a lot of "halo effect" mistakes, but still hit me every time. Ouch! My self warning did not work at all.
I had dinner very close to a USA couple that were talking and I just understood like 10% of what they said. Why dont you wear subtitles, like in the movies?

@Shaddock In most cases, yes! But there is British slang in the UK too.

I think slang depends more on region than state or country. Where I live, we talk differently from the people in the city, and in the areas that are more suburban I think (most) people talk more “proper” like what you’re describing. At least in the US.

We used to but we can't take them on the plane since 9/11. It annoys us too. :)

    I second those subtitles!
Personal reminder: Check the date of the OP before reply. There are so many old threads being bumped.

As I dont know the sittuation of the person bumping threads I dont want to judge him based on the common behavour or forum knowledge, that would be very NT on my part.

So I need to adapt myself at this new forum situation, firstly I disabled email notifications because I lost track of important ones. Now I have given a quite long answer to an introduction post from someone who entered Jan 17th and was last seen Jan 25th... o_O
And I joined by March... So I should avoid that by paying more attention.

It's ok to reply in an older thread if the topic interests you. Some subjects are perennial. It's definitely ok to check when the last time a person was here, though. That can save effort, because what is the point of greeting someone who hasn't been here in 5 years?
Reading a very interesting and fresh manga: The demonic contract

I like manga and graphic novels, but as a medium they are an abberant for me. I prefer them on my tablet and I can never just read on straight through; I have to put it down and come back to it so I can process all the visual information. From a reader's standpoint I have to shut down the movies that play in my head when I read and that takes a conscious effort on my part.

The drawings of this one are incredibly detailed and every page is full colour. I readed it using Bilibili app, which I just discovered last week.
