I need some helpful tips on how to stop snacking out of boredom.

Thank you. For me, it stems from the fact that I used to engage in repetitive behaviors that others found off-putting. Wear the same clothes every day until they practically fall apart? Now I throw everything into the hamper at the end of the day and they last longer. Dominate conversations...

Any of you not able to make friends? I know I very rarely make friends.

I stopped trying to make friends decades ago. Now I just let it happen, and it either does or it doesn't.

Sure, it takes time; but the key to quitting a habit is not to engage in endless discussions about how to do it. The key to quitting a habit is to simply do it. I mean, how much discussion does a person really need to not do something?

An addiction is physical. A habit is behavioral. Smoking is an addiction. Snacking is a behavior. You need a chemical substitute to beat smoking -- nicotine patches, for example. You don't need to understand all the psycho-jargon behind a behavior to stop doing it -- you just stop doing it.

Useful Aspergers Syndrome / Autism Links, Articles and Resources

I recommend reddit.com/r/autism, as it seems to be more hospitable than another autism website that has recently become hostile toward Israel specifically, and people of Jewish ancestry in general. It also seems better moderated than that other website.

"How do I stop doing X?" Simple. You just stop doing it.

Does anyone here believe we are in the biblical end times?

Did you do any ACTUAL research? • Did you compile a literature review and write abstracts on each article? • Did you collect a random sample of sources and perform independent probability statistics on the reported results? • Did you at least take each article one by one and look into the...

    High school reunion

Bullying is as bullying does. The mere fact that some of them may have had traumatic experiences of their own does not absolve them from "acting out" and bullying others. They made their choices, so the onus is entirely on them --not society, not their parents, and certainly not their victims...

    High school reunion

It surprised me how many "bullies" and "mean girls" have died while engaging in some form of risky behavior. Many more died after engaging in risky behavior, but only after months or years of suffering. Those "Hold my beer and watch this" moments can be just as deadly as gunshots, and engaging...

List just one thing you did today

Became a "grampa" to five beautiful Persian-Siamese mix kittens! (Mother and babies are doing well, and daddy doesn't know yet.)

List just one thing you did today

Installed an emergency light in my living room.

    High school reunion

The only thing you would likely be missing out on would be further lack of connection. I attended my 5th and 10th HS reunions, and none since then. My 50th is this coming October, and I am not attending that one, either. If any classmates want to know how I'm doing, then they can just read my...

Forced to have a smart meter

They don't have to come to your house. They only have to drive slowly through your neighborhood and let their on-board radio equipment do all the "reading" for them.

Forced to have a smart meter

Why? How could having a smart meter cause stress? With a regular meter, the reader has to stand in front of it and read the numbers. With a smart meter, the reader can stand on the sidewalk or park in the street and read the meter from there. Having a smart meter means fewer people walking...

    Karma, and what it is

One form of Karma occurs when what someone does to another gets done to them later. Humiliating a co-worker in public, and then suffering the same humiliation from someone else later, for example. Another form is when an abusive and arrogant jerk performs a stunt so obviously stupid that he or...
