  • Nobody in my blood family is on my side. Nobody in the 12 step circles is on my side. Arthritis makes the commute to my office impossible sometimes. And nobody cares about that except my doctor.
My life is a string of regrets. I need a new job and a new life in a new location. Time to stop talking and start taking action.
I just spent $700 on two new pairs of eyeglasses along with a new prescription. Damn, I feel that fiscal pain of that much cash leaving me at once.

I feel you. I had to spend almost the same at the dentist two days ago. Not fun.

I am a fan of COSTCO. I brought two pairs from them. Nice quality glasses for less than $400. My hearing aids through COSTCO also were a fraction of the cost than through an audiologist practice and has great features.

I got two pairs for 49.99.
I am feeling an intense craving for marijuana. I shall deny myself. Winter will be over in a couple of months, anyway.

Got any cookies? Peanut butter or cheese? Fruit?
Some cold bubble water? Yogurt? And a little fresh air?
Some of the above, at least?

I have some fruit and Greek yogurt.
I want to go on a long walk on a sunny beach and listen to the waves crash. Ah, vacation cannot come quickly enough for me.

Oooooohhhh. I'd love to be beneath the waves enjoying all the life on a coral reef.
Watching a reality TV series about animal hoarders. It totally is exploiting mental illness. Yet I still keep watching it. It’s quite sleazy.

I don't think I cd bear seeing animal hoarding, the conditions, and misery.

    Ordinary hoarding, sure.

That I will have on while I am sorting stuff, for instance.
Weekend is here. Film festival by myself time! Have sparkling water in the fridge, veggie sticks, microwave popcorn. I will drown myself in movies.

Movie nite sounds great. We did Vietnamese restaurant last nite, and we made pho soup and are watching movies now.
My family is made up of a couple of narcissists who are NEVER wrong and an army of enablers. Whatever. They are going to do what they are going to do from a good safe distance from me.
I am working from home today because my knee hurts way too much for me to be able to walk to the bus stop, and that sucks.

I think I am having my first acute gout attack after not having anything like it for over a year.

Drinking poison while expecting it to harm others is no way to live.

Not sure if this is a deep realization from someone hurt, or more in the dad-joke category...

It's a variation of a quote that has many variations:

Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die
I forgive my entire blood family, just so I no longer have to carry them around in my heart. I still want nothing to do with any of them. I still place my health and sanity first. I am not saying they were ever right.

One of the best things that we can do is to forgive, but not forget past wrongs.

Yeah, they are going to keep on doing what they have always done. I can only save myself.

Grudges are toxic, they eat away at your soul. Forgiving your family, yet living 1500 miles away from them, is a good thing.
I want to sleep through the rest of the week. Alas, I cannot because I have a job and I need the money.
I really wish switching off unwanted thoughts were as easy as flipping a light switch. I am not strong enough for that to be true in my case.

    Yep, same boat here.

Maybe it's more helpful to accept the thought and realize it doesn't have to be true. If you were so weak, you wouldn't have survived all the things you have.
I feel like shouting a string of obscenity at my entire blood family, but that won’t change a thing and they would use that against me. Better to just keep them at a good safe distance.
I want to soak in a hot and bubbly jacuzzi but I currently have no access to one. It's just been too damn cold outside.
