  • Life, to me, is made up of a job I dislike, a commute I dislike, and lots of television watching and game playing. I want a drastic change to break all of this up. This is not living.

Sorry you were at that point. How much of life are you missing out on? Stuck in emeshment patterns of family BS?

It's scary to step out of ourselves, but, l am here to tell you, l moved across the entire coast. It was scary and rough, but l survived. And l am in my 60's now. I am so glad l did this.

@Metalhead, you will find your resilience, I know you will. Things look grim right now, but they will not always be this way. You can rise and get back to good.
I wish I had a jaccuzi, a massage chair, heated seats on public transit, my own private massage therapist, a winning Powerball ticket to afford all of this is the key I need.
I wish I could afford legitimate massage therapy right now.

Thai massage. They are so great. Or warm stone massage. One place put stones on back, then kneaded with the stones.
I wish I had a massaging chair at home. A heated massaging chair. That would be very nice.

I have a kinda massage cushion thing you fix to a chair. It has roller things in it that spin and are heated too. It's ok, probably not as good as a proper massage chair but it's good if you are on a budget :-)
I feel like getting Thai food for dinner tonight. I think I will treat myself to a night out by myself. Dinner and a trip to a bar with a band where I can sip soft drinks and enjoy the music.

Enjoy! A few days ago my spouse was cooking a coconut soup thing. I helped with the spices - Lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, a hot chili and galangal. The secret in using Lemongrass is to bruise it first. We had it with bean thread vermicelli.
I wish I had a bowl of that nice spicy seafood stew I get from this nice Thai joint I sometimes visit in Seattle.

That sounds so good. I could spend the rest of my life at a Vietnamese, Italian, or Thai place. Maybe Japenese, or a great Jewish Deli. :)

Yum. Sounds good. Are you going to cook something nice for your dinner?

Sacramento doesn't have enough Jews to support a Kosher deli, sadly. We do have lots of Hmong, so Thai groceries are fairly common since after the Vietnam Wars ended they spent years in refugee camps in Thailand. Thai is way too spicy for me, but lots of people love it.
I wish I could take a razor blade and remove my tonsils and then cauterize the surgery with a lighter. Suppose it is a good thing I do not like pain. My tonsils suffocate me in my sleep.
I wish I could get paid to be a NEET gamer and movie critic. Somehow, I never seem to win the jackpot when I buy a lotto ticket, though. So I must remain employed.

maybe you get enough followers to make a living
My neighbors kept me up at 2 in the morning by airing their dirty marital laundry very loudly in their backyard, just a couple of feet away from my backyard. They should have just got a motel room and screwed already.
After playing my Xbox One for 24 hours straight, I feel like I am getting too old to treat my body like that.

Honestly that would be a really unhealthy move even at 20.
Maybe I should express my anger that somebody is getting 3 years for a non violent drug possession charge instead of treatment.
The next several months are going to be pure Hell for me. I'm not sure if I literally can survive that long at this rate.

You can do it. Maybe you'll find some new things to help along the way. Maybe somehow, with a little effort, it won't be quite as bad as you are imagining.

I'm sure you have strength. It's going to be hard but you are one of the more resilient folks here.
