about the compression test, I have heard mixed "reviews" about doing that. sometimes it can actually cause more problems. especially on an older car (like a 22 year old car) and actually make the problem worse. the thing about running the A/C with it not working, that will cause more damage to the system, if the compressor is still good, with no refrigerant and oil in there, it will burn it up causing an even bigger repair. It could also make that belt pulley freeze and then break the belt itself. I already got some 50/50 (because that's all they had) of antifreeze and coolant. I also have a "head gasket" repair liquid for the radiator if it is the head gasket. I was planning on swapping engines soon anyway.
