40 Something and Broke

“You will be satisfied.” (Joel 2:19)
Hi,

My name is Mark and I’m a geek in wild shirts. Problems at work prompted a push for a diagnosis, which I’ve successfully lobbied to be expedited. As my introvert personality ebbed in my 30s, in my 40s this opened a Pandora’s Box (Boundaries, Bigger Picture, etc.). My Foster Brother is classic Aspie.

Hi Mark... Welcome

Got a few things on your mind it sounds like???
Not sure I understand enough to say anything... : )

Break it down a little, and there is a mass of people here who can help you hash it out, or just vent, or whatever...

Hi & Welcome,
I hope the diagnosis is a positive development for you.

Hi All, and thanks for the friendly greets.

Hi Mark, and welcome here. You sound kinda all over the map.

Yes, I feel fragmented, all over the map, rather than integrated & whole at this juncture.

Hi & Welcome, I hope the diagnosis is a positive development for you.

I do hope so. It affords more protection, as I feel too vulnerable to work F/T and reestablish my career without, and an answer to lifelong puzzlement's. I've ordered this book, but alas its section on "Reasons, advantages and disadvantages for a diagnostic assessment" will be read with hindsight...

I think if the autism has already caused definate problems (ie. at work), its not a bad choice to get a diagnosis.
