By the time I was twelve, I had already climbed that rock a few times. It looks big and scary, and the front face is sheer, and straight up and down. But there is actually a popular trail that spirals around the back sides of it, with lots of switchbacks. Eventually you come out on top. If you look at the layout of the rock, you can see horizontal folds in it. That is where the trail is. It's named Devil's somethingorother, I don't remember.

Anyway, in the winter, my parents would drive us up to the base of that hill, and then hike up to go sledding. It was pretty dangerous and stupid and my brother and I got injured many, many times.
