Little Beirut

(Portland, Oregon- Named that by former president George HW Bush. He named it that after the incredible protests that occurred when he visited Portland back in the early nineties, as the people of Portland rose up against our involvement in Operation Desert Storm. During the eighties, there was a terrible war in Lebanon, and he was comparing the protesters in Portland, Oregon to the insurgents in Beirut.)
