My dad knew the guy who made all the art. He wouldn't tell my mom, and just him and I would sneak up the highway a couple hours, and go see the big outdoor display, while dad hung out with the owner.

There were times where the owner wasn't home, and we were allowed to go in and just hang around (the country way) until he got in.

I liked making pretty music on the bottles.

I passed through this tiny little coastside town near Big Sur when i was a lonely fifteen year old hippie wanderer. I have always said to myself that I would come back some day and settle here. It was paradise.

Going through google search for the right image, I came upon a familiar little cove. I remember vividly, that it was sunset and as dusk settled on the sea, and the tide came in, there were a dozen or so seals resting on the rocks who sang to me. And I sang to them. I was very close to them. Within a foot or two. They were fine with my presence, singing through the evening. I imagined going out in the water with them. It's one of the happiest memories of my life.
