Well I was going to say some people can't use stairs so they use them but then they tell you not to use walkers or crutches on the escalators either so that's would have been a false statement. But I have seen people drag strollers up them when there is an elevator ten feet away. :)

I don't like them. It's no so much because I worry about using them safely, it's because typically when the metro stops, all the passengers rush to the elevator and so they become a crowded moving strip of people. I don't like standing and waiting to get to the top, I want to keep moving. I'm usually one of the few people to take the stairs.
Reminds me of a video I saw where some people tried to make the stairs more interesting to use by effectively turning them into piano keys:

Interestingly, they also did another one by turning part of the stairs into a slide. :D

It's not that I don't like them, I've just got an underlying fear of getting my pants chewed up at the cuff. I'm also still fit enough to scale a set of stairs faster than any escalator can carry me, so when available that's my go to.

Whoa, you just unlocked some childhood memories! I used to be TERRIFIED of elevators and escalators when I was a child. I used to have to stand on my parents' feet on elevators to feel safer, and even so, the motion scared me. I think it was that feeling of the ground dropping out from under your feet that happens when it "takes off". Similar to escalators. Now I hardly notice it, and am fine.

I will say though, when an up escalator is stopped, but the down escalator is still going, if I walk up, I feel a little funny, and the first step on is weird. Like, I expect the steps to be moving because my mind is confused by the movement next to me. Stairs in general can be hard. I think my autism makes me severely uncoordinated, which I can usually hide with some precautions. I always, always look down at my feet whenever I go up or down the stairs or an escalator. I am completely fine that way; no issues. If, I don't, though, and therefore can't see where my feet are, it's likely I'm gonna trip and fall! Anyone else?

I used to be scared of them and wouldn't want to take them as a kid, cause I thought I would get sucked in. I also had a serious fear of elevators when I was really short, which makes me wanna laugh now but I still remember the feeling :3 Neither are a problem for me anymore. I like escalators.

Nowadays I scream when I can see outside the elevator, I love feeling like we're on a ride. Same with tripping and falling, I like to be cautious too :)

Dislike them very much. I had quite a few memorable meltdowns trying to use them as a child. Now, I dislike the dirty handrails and fears of things getting stuck in them. Elevators are worse, though.
I avoided them altogether until I was about 11 or 12... I didn't even tie my shoes or take showers until I was 12 either, truthfully. I was also lucky to get a phone and iPad at 14 instead of earlier :p

I'm not that big a fan of them. The only times I see them are when I go to the airport and I actually did trip because I was very tired from a 10 hour journey. Luckily it was in the middle and stood back up quickly. My carryon fell down though so I had to quickly get that from the bottom of the escalator.

I prefer stairs personally. Or just an incline with a stair option but that is very rare and I only saw that once.
I do like the horizontal escelators though! Those are great and you can walk on them to feel like you're moving very fast!
I didn't know horizontal ones existed : 0

I adore escalators. If anything, as a teenager, running the wrong way up an escalator was the greatest stim of all.

But yes, at the very last minute, I always get this irrational sensation that my toes are going to get sucked under with the stairsteps. I step nimbly just before.

It's still loads of fun though.
You're making me wanna try that >:) I probably will but it might disturb some people
