Anyone feel like they were born in the wrong era?

I seriously feel like I was born at the wrong time.Maybe I just have an old soul? Anyone else feel like they don't belong in 2015?
 
I agree with that though haven't thought about it in a while. Ever since I was a little kid I wished I lived on earth when it was a quiet place.
 
Yes I do, but in the opposite direction! I feel that I should be a teen or a bit older not a woman in her middle 40's ie 45!

I am loving these couple of year's music; so much out there for me that are superficial.

My nt friend calls me: the eternal teenager. I reckon it is because when I was a teenager, I had to take on a heck of a weighty responsibility of caring for my gran, at a time, when nothing was recognised and so, I never got to be a teen really. So it looks like I am making up for lost time and the good thing is that I can relate to teens; whereas when I was a teen, I couldn't ( not because I felt older, but due to feeling different).

My friend cannot get over that I went to see a singer in concert; she finds that very "teenagery" and really can't figure out why I love my music loud! But she is not cruel; just finds it amusing.

I have been called: a free spirit. But will have to look that up, because I certainly do not feel free with chronic social anxiety!

Oh and although I am by no means stupid with electronic devices and do not join all those social sites, I am on facebook and I do not text when in company, but I love texting!
 
Yep definitely I always felt that way,always be fascinated with the past and ancient history.
 
I actually that I didn't have full internet access until my teens. It was nice growing up with the web. It's wonderful to have now but I'm glad I didn't have it as a child. I never would've gone outside!

Perhaps you're more in touch with cell memory/past lives than you realize. Just a thought...
 
Sometimes I wish I was born about five years earlier so people would correctly guess I am Generation X and not one of those damn millenials. :sweat:
 
As I believe in reincarnation I have to assume that I've been born at the right time, many times :)

Joking aside, I have been witness to so many great changes in the world this time around. Science, medicine and technology have made fantastic leaps in my sixty years. Been a blast ;)

Although to have been born a few years later (I'm 41), I would have had Internet sooner, lol. I can't tell you what a difference it could've made in my teenage years to have had access to so much information. I might have gotten help a lot sooner from my abusive family. C'est la vie.

Anywho, to answer the OP: yes, in that I think it's much harder now to make your own way outside certain highly specialized systems (maybe this is changing, though?). I recall Temple Grandin commenting on how Einstein could never publish his theory of relativity today without a university position, as a mere patent clerk, and I can think of many similar historical examples. Rudy Simone also comes to mind saying her theory about why there are more AS diagnoses is that society has gotten that much 'tougher' on our executive functioning and social skills.

However, as a woman, I probably would've had a hard time in history too (damn). I think I don't fit in well, but I'm not sure I'd have fit in better in an earlier time. Probably it would have been difficult for me regardless.

And that's really all the answer I can give. I'm not sure whether I should have been born earlier or later...both have their benefits. But my age is honestly incorrect.
 
I think I was born at a perfect time. Just the right moment to see both the pre-computer world and the Internet, but probably too old to experience the robot wars of 2070.

I don't feel like I fit into 2015, but I'm not sure any that other time would be better for me.
 
I think yes and no. The world is changing so much so fast and that can be good, but I feel I should have been born in the late 70s or 80s so I could be a teen/twenties in the 90s.
