Autism and buying items, especially items you don’t need

It may help a lot that I usually wait until I can get a great price on the things I do want, and get a thrill out of using up bulk supplies instead of having to run to the store. Also, I remember my father being quite dismayed that I didn't share his sense of satisfaction with having built something. I'm most satisfied just between design and execution. By the time it is done, it just looks like a collection of things that are not as perfectly done as they had been imagined. However, when I buy things, I ususally want to re-design them even if the workmanship is great.
