I'm with @vergil96 in that friendship and the caring that develops adds depth to expressing love towards another through sex. The sense of deep intimacy is wonderful. Im sorry, Aspychata, that you are going through this. I have been there in the past and it is so nerve-wracking to be waiting on pins and needles for his call.

Could it be you want more from the relationship than he does?

I don't work anymore. Between abusive workplaces, taxes, gas, etc., it's cheaper for me to stay home.

It sounds best to look for someone in a similar situation to you, then, if you are looking.
You could consider volunteering somewhere locally to meet people.
Or, consider casual only if you are okay with that.
Or, if it's feasible, consider getting yourself to a place where you can be hired so that you make more than your retirement position currently.

In terms of the person not contacting you, they might be seeking more economic stability and it's not mentioned because that kind of stuff isn't normally brought up too early in a relationship or potential relationship.
