BBC drama 'The A Word' - starring Christopher Eccleston - to tackle autism

Random thoughts/observations on episode 2.

- Joe's headphones are blue, the van he is often picked up by is blue and the grandad's jacket is blue too.
- I like the colours of the clothing that the mother wears as they are mostly warm tones.
- I wonder if the the parents' characters have been written to display behaviours/emotions that are commonly experienced by parent's of a child diagnosed as being Autistic, when they have no experience of what Autism is?
-I wonder what would be a balanced/healthy way, for Joe, of appraoching the fact it isn't always pheasible to have music on during certain activities? (I'd be interested to hear suggestions, if anyone has them. I'm not a parent myself, and wouldn't know where to begin at approaching this area in a constructive way.)
-It's more dramatic for the parents not to be working together.
-I'd like to be listening to music and being pushed on a swing, it looks like fun. think I'm too big for a childs swing though :p.

(If I've put apostraphes in the wrong places, please let me know.)

The swings jogged a memory for me. I used to listen to radio 1 and go on the swings in the park, at least this is what I remember but I am not sure whether I a) taped the sons and played it on my personal stereo b)borrowed my dad's personal stereo which did have radio as mine didn't or c)whether I memorised the entire songs and what the DJ was saying and then mentally played it back while at the park. C is unlikely but I don't ever remember taking my personal stereo to the park. I wasn't as young as Joe I was 13-14.

HK don't have BBC so I'm waiting for the online version. :(

It is certainly available on the Iplayer on-line in the UK, but I think it is geo-locked if you live outside of the UK.
However it is worth a try.
Personally I liked the episode, however I can understand the frustration in relation to the mother, but I think she is meant to be annoying and I can understand where she is coming from, even if she is not going the correct way about it.
