The internet is pretty much tired of it already, however mainstream TV is mostly watched by women so it's no wonder they still appeal to women with such a narrative.

That is something I read on the internet among female hating groups like mra's, mgtow and incels who repeat these statements. I don't read this in everyday media. I've never heard the 'all men are rapists' statements outside of yahoo, 4chan and reddit.Of the fifty or so women I've known none have ever made that statement. Usually repeated by men who believe that they are entitled to certain types of women as girlfriends and wives. And have been turned down repeatedly. So the women are blamed, for all of it.

Mainstream television is watched mainly by men at night. Hence the shows about hunting, fishing, forging steel into knives, vintage cars, motorcycles, auctions, barbecuing, bar reno's flipping houses, renovation shows. There is virtually nothing that I watch on television other than walking dead and big bang theory reruns. There is literally nothing of interest. I actually don't know who the demographic studies are supposed to appeal to.

I enjoy the show but do think they over-exaggerate on Sheldon a bit if he's supposed to be Autistic. Still it's a fun show.

It's pretty tempting to do so though. The incel topic alone is a treasure trove of fun.

So just to stay on topic, I'm not a huge TBBT fan, but the funniest moment for me was the line "Lack of adhesive ducks" when Sheldon had to make up a reason for Penny's injuries when she slipped in the shower.

Marilyn French's first and best-known novel, The Women's Room (1977), follows the lives of Mira and her friends in 1950s and 1960s America, including Val, a militant radical feminist. The novel portrays the details of the lives of women at this time and the feminist movement of this era in the United States. At one point in the book the character Val says, "all men are rapists, and that's all they are.

That's where the origins of that statement are from. Said by a fictional character in a book published in 1977.

I couldn't STAND the Penny character in season 1.

I found the entire premise insulting. It was clearly written by NTs, probably the same ones who wrote Scorpion. They look at disorders like aspergers and assume that our greatest wish is to be NT! Far from it! I don't see anything wrong with being logical with a high IQ. It really annoys me when characters like sheldon or leonard are portrayed as somehow deficient and lucky to have a superficial NT like Penny giving them attention. They wish to learn from her, they wish to be like her, they hold her in high regard. No! No no no. Should be written the other way round. She should be chasing them and apologizing for being so empty headed and useless.

However, kudos to the writers, BBT improved immeasurably after about the 3rd season. I stopped watching it out of protest but my husband kept watching it because of Penny's boobs. Then a few jokes caught me and I got back into it around season 4. I love sheldon's mum, and the other characters started to grow on me. Now my husband has traded Penny's boobs for game of thrones but I'm still watching BBT religiously!

Penny always rubbed me the wrong way. She's the type of girl I just wouldn't put up with.

Pretty girls get a lot less attractive when they're like that.
