I'm coming off a 10 day stretch enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. Found the best K cups on Amazon. both taste and price wise... was really enjoying myself. I am very much a foodie and oh my this tapped into that. Then... oh oh... Doc said I had to stop for it affected my health (woman's issue). One day later, bam! Caffeine withdrawal headache. Wow... They should put a warning on coffee. Still dealing with that though it's now a week and getting better. Still crave that yummy k cup. grrrrrrr

To wean me off of this headache I added a potent cocoa to my daily... so very easy to rationalize that treat with this headache....
For that lower dose of caffeine via cocoa/chocolate, I turn to one of these two:

Equal Exchange Organic Dark Hot Chocolate
or
Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa Mix Mocha

I have 50mg of Adderall, two cups of coffee, and 1-2 caffeine capsules that are equivalent to 1-2 cups of coffee each. And then I feel normal.

1) I have always avoided energy drinks, only ever had one way back when they first came out

2) Coffee mostly, when at home I use the Aeropress (not a coffee machine as such), used a Bodum french press for years before that, I haven't had a coffee machine for years

Coffee, unsugared. I avoid sugary energy drinks. Avoid sugar altogether, except yoghurt with honey.

I don’t really like coffee that much, but when I do have it I have to add cocoa powder to mask the taste of coffee.

Black, 2-3 spoons of coffee, quarter of a sugar and usually by 11am it's 10 cups down.
But now it's 1 in the morning one before 11:59am and that's it

I don't pay attention to caffeine. It doesn't affect me with or without it.
Orange juice for breakfast.
Iced tea for lunch.
Cola for dinner.
Carbonated fruit flavored water once a day.
I love coffee at night for some reason and it doesn't keep me awake.
I sleep very deeply even if I just had a large coffee, hot or vanilla iced.

Good to see I'm not the only one.
Same with Red Bull, friend drinks a can and turns into a rubber bouncing ball, me 4 cans later, still nothing.

Coffee. Like, so much coffee. Occasionally I'll have a soda, but it's not always caffeinated. But mostly coffee, with creamer. Sometimes hot, often cold.
The caffeine doesn't seem to affect me, though.

I am sorry for your loss! :rose:.

I don't view it as a loss, as much as a misstep nutritionally. I usually enjoy cocoa and was experimenting with coffee flavors, as I am staying with my son who has a K k cup machine. It was just something to stay busy with. I did find some great flavors for him, but didn't realize how much caffeine produces cerebral vasoconstriction by antagonizing adenosine receptors. I did know it was neurostimulant. I don't think I would want to be on that (C) for long with that in mind, but I didn't quite get the withdrawal side effects, and how long they would last. caffeine narrows the blood vessels that surround the brain. Stop consumption and the blood vessels enlarge. Thus the 10 days worth of headache withdrawal.

I think I will stick to my hot cocoas (for tastebud soothing), and adaptogens (for energy). Much healthier for me in the long run, and no side effects. I love dark chocolate and that has small amounts of caffeine in it. I suppose it is the actual coffee that was the irritant. What happened to make me stop is I thought I had a UTI, when indeed the drinking of the coffee was an irritant for the bladder... weird. I guess this drug of choice has no real benefit for me.

The winner is my son as he is enamored with the flavors I found in K cups and the price per cup that runs 25 to 28 cents a cup. I think the stuff he was using ran between .75 - $1.00 a cup.

Mountain Dew. If drinking the bottled stuff (usually if I’m traveling), generally 2 of the large-ish bottles of it early in the day.

If instead drinking the nectar of the gods- er, I mean, the fountain drink version of Dew at my local gas station, it’s just the one big one, also early in the day.

They know me at that gas station. They all know me there. The drink costs exactly $1.11 (including tax) and I somehow manage to pay for it with exactly a dollar bill, a dime, and a penny each time.

The funniest bit is how the transaction sometimes goes. The lady who I see the most often (and who my mother and stepfather know) knows that if I’m there, I’m probably going to get the fountain drink by itself. So, often the interaction is that I’ll walk over to the fountain machine, start messing with it, she might walk up next to me and say something like “Ya got the money?” And I just hand it to her there and she takes it back to the counter and does the register thing and I simply walk out.

Feels like a back-alley sort of deal without actually being one. And yes this is in a super rural area.
I also love mtn dew but i stopped drinking it because it turned me into a bunny and its not good for your health. Also bad for your teeth, you should at least drink some water after it to flush away the acid. All the supermarkets here decided to stop selling it due to health concerns actually. Its the best drink there is tho.

I usually have one energy drink a day. Two if I have a test or something big. My go to energy drinks are Monster, Monster Nitro, Rockstar, and Red Bull. Monster Nitro is the nectar of the gods.

I LIKE COFFE WITH MILK AND SUGAR IN IT AND SOME TIMES HONEY IN THE COFFEEE I LIKE STAR BUCK ICED COFFEE WITH MILK AND SUGAR
