Cake and Ice Cream

When I said "ice-cream cones" I meant waffle cones, but just misremembered the names. I don't like very cheap ones like this however, as they are quite bland. I've enjoyed some handmade ones in the past, but it isn't a requirement. The mass produced ones also get soggy, while in my experience, the more expensive ones tend to be hard even when the ice cream is melting against it.
I agree. The other one isn't even a cone and they suck. But what about this one:

Is it me or does cake and ice cream seem kinda weird together?

When you eat cake by itself, you use a fork.
And when you eat ice cream by itself, you use a spoon.

So when you're given both, you're either eating cake with a spoon or ice cream with a fork.

Or you can just use a spork. That way we don't need to deal with the silverware switchroo~

So, @Xinyta , it's your birthday coming up.

Since it's your special day, what would you like to eat at your party? If you had the ultimate choice, what would it be?

Honestly, I am not a really a overly picky person when it comes to alot of food. As far as desert, I think German Chocolate Cake is a big favorite of mine, over alot of cakes.

Genuine question, but how is German chocolate cake different than other chocolate cakes? Have all the ingredients been carefully measured?

Yes. There is a difference. It bothers me too. Like why? I think l have a huge problem with different textures. I have spent my entire single life breaking down meals based on texture. Which makes me feel inferior and un-dateable. Like l section my entire day based on textures of my meals. Because it's my existence and l owe nobody an explanation because l am me.

That's actually a good question. I really have no satisfactory answer to this, since I haven't had one in a very long time. I can only kinda remember the texture and flavor. All I remember is that having it just satisfies in a way other chocolate cakes don't.

Though something else to consider is changes in tastes for things. I may not like German Chocolate Cake the same way I use to, despite good memories.

I would need to try it again to know for sure.

Funny to recall that despite my love of Baskin Robbins' ice cream cakes, when I ate them I would be careful to first eat the ice cream sections, and then the cake parts. Eating both at the same time would have been a texture sensitivity for me as well. I've almost always managed to "segregate" my food on the same plate. My bad!

Sadly though I haven't had such a dessert since my dear mother died many years ago. I could go out and buy one, but somehow the idea of doing it just made me sad. So it's just a pleasant memory for me.

This is something I have been thinking about alot with my birthday coming up.

Is it me or does cake and ice cream seem kinda weird together? I mean texturally. I have a bit of a issue with the flakiness of cake and the smoothness of ice cream mixing together. For me the cake bits ruin the pleasing smoothness of ice cream. If I do have it on the same plate, I like to eat them separately.

Am I alone on this?
I love it together sometimes I think the textures both compliment each other.
The creamy of the ice-cream brings out the texture and sometimes flavour of the cake.
