Car drivers deliberately honk at me when I wear earphones...

Last time I walked on the road was last winter. just after a snowstorm sidewalk not cleared yet. Just left hospital no place to sit middle of covid all benches removed. so, I decided to walk home. Nobody honked. Wife was pissed gave hospital earfull.

Just don't have to explain that to the police officer who arrives on the scene of an accident. Or an ambulance-chasing lawyer. In my country you have to try, whether you think it's beyond your ability or not. Or plead the Fifth Amendment.

We call it "defensive driving". ;)

I bet you'd adjust pretty fast if you were in downtown Los Angeles on a Friday afternoon. :D

I just meant that I don't honk at pedestrians on sidewalks. I keep an eye on things of course, like drivers should, but I can't honk at all pedestrians just in case they are about to do something stupid. :)

Reminds me of being in Orlando Florida one time. I was admiring the moniker on some guy's Mercedes Benz and he told me, "That's not a moniker, it's a gunsight!"

Orlando....so yeah, I believed what he told me.

Agreed, I've never honked at a pedestrian on a sidewalk, parking lot or in a crosswalk. Especially one who obviously inattentive. Bad idea as it could potentially precipitate an accident.

LOL...but I have been known to roll my eyes at them at times. ;) (Road rage here sometimes ends as a gunfight.)

I just stay highly observant of them. - Especially children. Kids are the worst when it comes to sudden and irrational movements from the sidewalk to the street.

My worse scenario is often a common one. Where I park in a temporary loading zone inside a roundabout (circle) just to fetch my mail. Where I not only have to watch for frequent pedestrians, but cars entering or exiting the roundabout from four different directions. Makes my head spin...even with a rear camera on my dashboard.

Yeah kids are a little different, important to keep an eye on them when driving. You never know what they'll do.

Yeah, both as pedestrians or drivers. Just hearing them gun their engines and screaming tires, best to keep them in front of me than behind me.

But the little ones not tethered to their parents at a busy crossing, often scarier to anticipate their next move.

I very sensitive to loud high pitch noises and also so loaded with testosterone. That if a guy points a gun at me he better not miss, or he will not have any teeth as I use his Gun to remove them. I am not a fighter, rather am fearless.
Being an Aspie is weird. Most guys like me would be in bar fights picking playing aggressive sports picking up women. I just keep to myself. My best friend is a guy who if he was younger could have trained for world's strongest man wrestled in high school played football. after he discovered I'M not the type of guy that gets intimidated we become friends in college. went to bar once some idiot went after my buddy with a knife the guy let the bar with a broken arm. My buddy has very fast reflexes fight over in seconds.

Another time, I was walking near a building where they drained the ditch around it. I was staring at it. Then I could have sworn some lady with her dog said something sarcastic.

You get watched like a hawk. In Edinburgh, there's too many housing schemes and zero privacy.
