Chemical sensitivities, reactive airways, skin issues, etc

This is an extremely informative thread; I have no information to better it. I do have many chemical sensitivities but sometimes my brain seems like a brick and I don't have that type of analytical genius y'all have to figure out the roots of the problems.

I have a brick brain, too. Mine comes and goes. my mom was a type 1 diabetic. So even though I have a lot of circuits in my brain, some of my nerves are too small. I discovered this when I noticed I hadnno peripheral vision while taking motorcycle riding lessons and couldn’t run an obstacle course. This makes it very hard to process information when I am tired, hungry, sick, medicated, or stress. Showed up on an mri. My blood vessels in brain run at 90 degree angles, indicative of stroke or rapid brain development after birth. I had mild stroke from antihistamines when Inwas very young, but had career after that. I am slow keeping up with rapid information in school. But managed to be an average student but worked as hard as someone with an F to maintain a C. Got B’s in literature.

Diabetes causes inflammation. When my sugar is not normal, my tendons shorten, muscles ache, get jock itch fungus, sores from shaving or boils. I don’t get boilsnso much cause .i've learned how to treat tiny bumps quickly.

I know it is chemical, too. I had that bad formaldahyde experience where it is obvious. Perfume is instant reaction. my throat closes and I could die.

Now, this is crazy. But hubby an hour ago walked in with an aeromatic sandwich. It was a hamburger from the store commercialnaddednspice mix in it. I couldn’t breath. He had to eat it outside the room. But when they are not that hot from cooking, I have eaten some of it. But spices when hot will bother normal people. Go burn some cayennenin anskillet and you will see.

I thought you were a guy! (from all the talk of fish and gators and snakes and frogs:)) But I guess gender discrepancy is common among us auties. I was commonly harassed as being "gay" early in life (6-14). I had pretty, straight blond hair, soft voice, and sensitive nature. Around 15 or 16 (in a gradual but fairly sudden change) my hair turned dark brown and wiry/curly, like a hobbit. I generally mention hobbits in almost half my posts.

Are your eyes sensitive? Mine can be extremely so.

I always try to avoid chemical additives in my foods; my stomach is sensitive.

Though considered an English prodigy (and a half-as* math prodigy), many considered me dumb concerning common sense. I'm not dumb concerning common sense and I'm not an English prodigy (I just loved to read then).

In Mexico, market meat is freshest in the world (the animal is brought to the market fresh each morning). But supermarket meat (especially chicken) reminds me of the dissections we had to do in biology, laced with formaldehyde and other chemicals to create weight and preserve "freshness".

I wish everything I ate or used could be all natural, but it costs a lot. I want to be a small-scale farmer (producing enough for 100-200 people), but I ain't got no land no more:). I admire y'all for the ability to make things. One of the moderators on this site also makes a lot of the things she uses.

My eyes are only sensitive if blood sugar is up. eye sensitivity is usually from having blue eyes or certain health diseases. So if you were blindness earlier you may have some lighter rods in your eye iris that lets in more light.

I don’t make things “all the time”. But I will say that if I am doing a craft am hot about at the time, my obsession makes me lose all concept of time, I feel no physical pain from my thyroid caused fibromyalgia, and i’m in some sort of euphoria.

Art came very easy in first grade. Stick figure concept never occurred to me. I drew only two dementional figures of things I loved, ladies singing, animals. My mom encouraged me in every thing good I did and never punished me for being dumb. I was awful at memorization. She had a way of encouraging me that my first F in spelling became an A. But then Mama died! Dad acted aspie his whole life and was abusive. I thought he was Satan. He caused me to act out. He would say stop jumping on the couch. So I’d do the opposite and get beat. Mama never beat me. She would shun me and tell me my behavior made her mad. That would make me cry like I was gonna die. So I don’t know if i’m a real Aspie or a PTSD from him and two more step monsters. Not mothers, monsters!

I always tried to be girly and I liked girly stuff. I wanted to be a beauty queen, a cheerleader. Dad discouraged any such thing as he had severe sex issues from the military i think. I had to wear very long dresses when that was not the style. That began to destroy me over time cause mama made me very social because she was. She was not aspie at all. She knew the right thing to do at all times.

My fascination with sewing came from her. I’m frustrated that I can’t make my own dress. But I will. I’m studying under an expert. But Mama could sew in an hour what looked like it came from Fifth Avenue. She had learned from a sewing factory. I love textiles for their textures and colors. I can only wear cotton now because of allergies. But as a child I could tolerate anything except tags and wool maybe. I made lots of my own quilts and clothes. But I have trouble fitting my body now because a step mother ruined my hip structure and spine making me carry my half brother before my bones were through growing. So I now have to learn drafting to make a pattern fit and I hate math. But it’s coming along for this. Dad used to beat me for bad grades. I might not have math issues if mom had lived. I’ll never know.

I love to fish because of pretty nature. It was a fun thing in my earlier years with all my family and was happy. You can’t abuse someone if you scare the fish. My first experience was crabbing with bacon. I may have been two.

I love farming too. If I was still able bodied I might would start a coed monastery with farming, an restaurant or coffee bar with entertainment, and craft businesses. I didn’t start businesses in early years because Dad and a step mom convinced me I was stupid.

I used to raise rabbits, cows for food, garden, canning, cooking.

I’m like a guy because in fifth grade, girls were my favorite friends. But at sixth grade my parents would not dress me like the other kids. So
i got labeled and tagged a geek. My parents refused to let me socialize any more at all. Dad was so weird kids weren’t allowed at my house. But guys will always talk to a pretty a girl. So I began to gravitate to what boys liked. But I was too over protected to be a tom boy. Dad was fearful so he instilled fear in anything daredevil. This made me not have any friends from age 10 to 17. But I loved the adrenaline of being in a guys car in a quarter mile. I snuck rides on motorcycles.

Jeans and t-shirts became a uniform. I didn’t even noticed I dressed too guy like. It was for comfort and easy. My hair was waist long. no gay confusion there!

Earliest soap allergies at seven. Lots of respiratory infections. I grew up in metro pollution stew. If I was a lab mouse i’d be the one to die probably.

I had lots of non-gay guy crushes of semi feminine men. They were less threatening. I love manly men too if they aren’t abusive. My husband is not an overdose of testosterone but he has a proper bone confirmation and slim.

I have infection prone skin and lungs. Farming is nasty. My sensitivities might would kill me. I’ve been in a commercial chicken house. Ugh! I wore flip flops and got poo on my toes! lol! I’d still love a farm. Somebody else gotta do the nasties. I can skin an animal. But I hate to kill the sweet things. I sometimes still pray over past kills. Now i’m terrified of wasting diseases. But when it was safe I ate my share of beef, buffalo, coon, possum, squirrel, deer, water buffalo, emu, lamb, goat, frog, snake, freshwater foods and sea foods.

I do have an overlap of where mentally I am a bad a— man. I love fantasizing i’m a tough biker, or cowboy. But it is not sexual. It is a power rush of strength and invincibility. So I became an evangelistic biker and rose with 1% but retired from that. Wore jeans and cowboy boots a while. Appearing to others as invincible and smart is my rush but not with pride. I didn’t get the gay accusation you got.
i was called a not nice name for floozy even though it was not true. I was so ensecure though in younger years that I didn’t attract a lot of guys. I didn’t comprehend the game.

I had to become biker because my ex called me stupid for being afraid to ride. But he was abusive and called me stupid. So I later took a lesson. I asked the bikers the best way to wreck. Do i stay on or jump off. Problem solved. You jump! Everyone called me stupid, wimpy helpless. So I had a career, out ran cops, rode harley’s, went back packing a foreign country alone! I’m invincible! Love problem solving.

Joel, to get rid of disected taste, air dry the meat. American markets cheat us on weight by adding water or salt solution. Get a jelly roll pan with a wire rack. Air dry your steak and chicken in the refrigerator. cut the chicken in half lengthwise.Turn it as needed. Get one with long expiration date. Dry it about four days. Lay parchment paper over top if exposed meat in fridge freaks you out but don’t wrap it. Put it on top rack of fridge where nothing spills on it. It is like the old days when you bought meat in an open meat case that was not wrapped. it is called air aging and it enhances and tenderizes. It seawolves the fat in the skin.I discovered this by accident when I bought a gamey chicken from a meat market and the next one was like a disected frog. Gamey doesn’t mean free range, mit means air dried. Too gamey and you get close to spoilage. Now to cook the chicken brush with dry rub and olive oil and roast at 450 degrees.

Joel, i’m awakening to the fact NT’s force people to be gay then hate them if they become gay. My son was harassed for being wimpy. His Dad was wimpy. I tried to toughen him up. I feared he would become a target.

Sorry about your dad, he sounds like a loser. My eyes indeed are blue. I try to have a Clint Eastwood persona, especially for where I am:) I'm tall, skinny, and have pale eyes. When I was 15, my grandfather bought me 5 bee hives. Extracting the honey was hell at first, but we learned:)

Dad had explosive personality traits. He had lots of aspie traits. He was a spoilt baby of the family. But he was a good provider even during poor times.

I love what bees do! They are sent by God to heal us. You can bathe in honey and it will kill MRSA and jock itch fungus. Bees are so interesting and intelligent. Do you still have bees?

Oh no. We don't even have the farm anymore, nor the fishing on the banks of the creek. My grandfather died and they chose to sell it to divide the inheritance:( Bees are remarkable, like earthbound angels.

we were taught in school bugs are dumb cause of brain size. Now scientists know they have cognitive skills. Ever been watched by a jumping spider. They like to play. I think bees are definately angel like and from heaven for sure. Could you still care for them if you had a farm?

Without a doubt.

Haven’t tried making homemade soap just yet. Was washing head to toe with pink Zote laundry bar soap last few days. But it has citronella and glycerin in it. The glycerin leaves a waxy feel to the hair, yuck. So I found out the White Zote bar does not have glycerin or citronella. Citronella gives me a headache. The pink bar is more moisturizing so I’m using it on my face. The white bar makes my white hair look brighter. It has an optical brightner that reflects light. It has a light scent that is similar to Ivory but I’m allergic to Ivory but not so much this. So I also washed my bed linens with it today. Seemed to do good. But will have to clean soap residue from the washer with detergent every now and then. To strip the soap out every now from washer and from my hair I’m going to buy pure Sodium Laurel Suphate with nothing in it. They bathe show horses with it that are allergic to other products. So I may check that out. I also got a bar of Aveeno. If all that fails, I’ll break down and make my own soap. I really was just going to use Zote for laundry but their website says you can bathe and wash dishes with it. I wonder how long before I get allergic to this one. Surely Im of royal blood because I feel like the fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea. May try soap nuts, too. I might tie bits of the pink one to my ankles to keep mosquitos away when I go out, or go fish for catfish. Still experimenting.

Just discovered you can wash face and dishes with soap nuts but to avoid getting it in eyes. I found out how to make a bottle of it enough to do four hair washes. Leaves hair soft and shiny but some oil on hair helps if it becomes a bit dry. The ten drops or so of essential oil l add seems to stop dryness. Love the way it leaves my scalp non itchy.

Is it a lot of trouble? Send me and email and I’ll check it out. Even though it is natural, I wonder if it has any toxins. I know it was used long ago but people didn’t live long. I just got through writing the Zote manufacturer and asked if they made any soaps without optical brightener and fragrance. I told them to write back in English. It feels really good on the skin aftter bathing and helps sebborrhe and acne. But i’m concerned about fragrance and optical brightener. I’m less allergic to the white one. Zote is on the safe good product list but some people question the safety of optical brightener. Some of them are toxic and there are not many studies on them. I got to where Dial dried out my skin. So had to quit that.
